The Role

OriGen.AI is looking for a Reservoir Engineer to join our technical team and support our growing portfolio of international projects.The idóneo candidate will have a strong foundation in reservoir engineering, with solid hands-on experience in reservoir modeling, numerical simulation, and history matching. We are looking for someone with strong analytical skills who is comfortable working with complex reservoir models and data and is interested in applying advanced computational and AI-based technologies to reservoir engineering problems.This is a hands-on technical and client-facing role. You will work closely with OriGen.AI’s reservoir engineering, AI, and software teams, as well as with reservoir engineers and other technical specialists from our customers.The position is based in Spain and will involve working across international projects and teams.

What You Will Do

1. Work on reservoir engineering projects involving reservoir simulation, history matching, uncertainty analysis, and field development optimization.
2. Build, review, analyze, and quality-check reservoir simulation models and associated production and subsurface data.
3. Perform and support history matching studies, including the identification and evaluation of geological and dynamic uncertainties.
4. Work with commercial reservoir simulators such as ECLIPSE, INTERSECT, tNavigator, etc.
5. Apply OriGen.AI’s PROTEUS™ technology to real-world reservoir engineering problems.
6. Analyze simulation and AI-generated results and assess their consistency from a reservoir engineering perspective.
7.



Work closely with OriGen.AI’s AI and software teams to translate reservoir engineering requirements into technical workflows.
8. Collaborate directly with customers to define technical objectives, review data and models, interpret results, and communicate project outcomes.
9. Support multiple international projects.
10. Contribute to the continuous improvement of OriGen.AI’s reservoir engineering workflows and technology.

What We Are Looking For

1. Degree in Petroleum Engineering, Reservoir Engineering, or a closely related discipline.
2. Strong knowledge of reservoir engineering fundamentals.
3. Demonstrated hands-on experience with reservoir modeling and numerical reservoir simulation.
4. At least 5 years of demonstrated hands-on experience in reservoir history matching, including configuring and running reservoir simulations, PVT and SCAL characterization, and aquifer modeling.
5. At least 5 years of demonstrated experience with reservoir uncertainty analysis, optimization, and/or field development planning.
6. Demonstrated experience working with large or complex reservoir simulation models.
7. Demonstrated experience using one or more commercial reservoir simulators, such as ECLIPSE, INTERSECT, tNavigator, or similar.
8. Strong knowledge of geostatistics and geological reservoir modeling.
9. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including the ability to interpret reservoir data and simulation results.
10. Programming skills in Python, with an interest in applying computational and data-driven tools to reservoir engineering problems.
11. Ability to work effectively with multidisciplinary teams and across multiple technical projects.
12. Strong communication skills and the ability to interact directly with technical customer teams.
13. Fluency in both English and Spanish is mandatory. Candidates must be able to communicate effectively with customers and technical teams in both languages.

Exposure to machine learning, AI or surrogate modeling applied to subsurface problems.
