Do you want to understand how a highly regulated financial-market business works from the inside? Are you curious, analytical and comfortable challenging how things are done? Then BME Internal Audit wants to hear from you.
We are a collaborative and independent assurance team working across BME and REGIS-TR and closely with Internal Audit colleagues across SIX. In this role, you will take ownership of risk-based audit engagements across business, regulatory and technology topics, from planning and fieldwork through reporting and follow-up. You will work with stakeholders across the organization, bringing sound judgment, professional skepticism and clear communication to help strengthen governance, risk management and internal controls.
What You Will Do
- lead and perform risk-based internal audit engagements across BME and REGIS-TR, taking ownership from planning and risk assessment through fieldwork, reporting and follow-up.
- understand the activities under review, identify key risks and controls, define the audit approach and perform testing to assess the design and operating effectiveness of controls.
- critically assess audit evidence and document clear, evidence-based conclusions, findings and practical recommendations in line with the Group Internal Audit Methodology and professional standards.
- prepare high-quality workpapers and concise audit reports, discuss observations and action plans with stakeholders, and challenge constructively while maintaining independence and professional skepticism.
- contribute to risk assessments, audit planning, follow-up, quality activities and continuous improvement, collaborating with Internal Audit colleagues across BME and SIX on joint and cross-entity engagements.
What You Bring
- at least 5 years of relevant experience in internal or external audit, risk, controls or assurance, preferably in financial services, capital markets, financial market infrastructures or another highly regulated environment.
- ability to manage audit engagements with a high degree of autonomy, quickly understand complex business and technology processes, identify the risks that matter and consistently deliver high-quality work within agreed timelines.
- excellent analytical, critical-thinking, writing and communication skills, combined with sound professional judgment, professional skepticism and the ability to challenge stakeholders constructively.
- university degree in Business Administration, Economics, Finance, Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics or a comparable field; a professional qualification such as CIA, CISA, CPA, ACCA or equivalent is an advantage.
Knowledge of financial markets, EU financial regulation, IT controls or data analytics is also an advantage.
- fluent written and spoken English, with the ability to independently produce high-quality audit documentation and reports and confidently conduct stakeholder meetings in English; fluency in Spanish is also required.
