As a Due Diligence Officer in the CIB division, you assess and mitigate risks in client, counterparty, and transaction activity to ensure regulatory and internal policy compliance. You collaborate with relationship managers, legal, and compliance to enable informed decision-making and protect the bank’s operations. You will conduct comprehensive KYCs, scrutinize financial and legal data, and monitor documentation and regulatory follow-ups. The role offers exposure to cross-functional teams, risk assessment, and ongoing process improvements within a leading European bank with a strong regional hub in Madrid.
Compensaciones / Ventajas
• Perform KYCs on new customers, recertifications, and off-boarding
• Analyze financial statements, legal documents, and identify UBOs/PEPs
• Assess risks of clients, counterparties, and transactions and provide mitigation guidance
• Monitor follow-up elements and documentation; ensure regulatory compliance (FATCA, CRS, MiFID)
• Enter customer and beneficiary information in databases and perform background checks




• Review embargoes and PEP screening using local practice databases
• Prepare due diligence reports and maintain updated documentation; track files in tools
• Train new hires on policy updates and KYC tools (FENERGO, Screening, Investigator)
• Communicate findings to cross-functional teams and senior management
• Identify and implement continuous improvements to align with evolving regulations
• Stay updated on applicable laws and ensure proper controls to detect bribery or corruption
