Offer Description

The main task is the spectroscopic analysis of plasmonic, CdO-based layers and microstructures featuring plasmonic resonances in the mid infrared. The techniques to be used span reflectance, transmittance, and thermal emission experiments. The tasks include adapting our FTIR spectrometers to add spectroscopic ellipsometry to our portfolio of spectroscopic techniques. Numerical modelling tools will be used, too.

Requirements

Research Field Engineering Education Level Bachelor Degree or equivalent

Skills/Qualifications

Main research field: Applied Physics,



Material Science and Engeneering or similar.

Background on:

- Semiconductor physics
- Semiconductor processing technology
- Spectroscopy
- Plasmonics

Languages ENGLISH Level Excellent

Languages SPANISH Level Excellent

Additional Information

The hired researcher will participate in a joint program with INDRA, an international Spanish-based company, within the project “Chair UPM-INDRA in microelectronics”.

Eligibility criteria

- Academic records at Bachelor's level.
- Record of grades for courses completed in the MSc degree program to date.
- Level of compliance with specific requirements.
