Experteer Overview
In this role you will lead the Spanish Medical Affairs function to shape medical strategies, oversee trials and medical content, and ensure governance and cross‑functional alignment with regional and global MA teams. You will manage budgets, headcount, and external expert networks to enable high‑quality clinical programs and compliant medical activities in Spain. This is a strategic, leadership role in a dynamic, patient‑focused organization that values collaboration and integrity. You will partner with local TA leads, market access, and affiliates to deliver impactful medical solutions in line with Astellas’ mission.

• Lead and govern the Spain Medical Affairs organization, including headcount, budgets, and activities
• Contribute to Medical Strategies and design/execute MA sponsored studies
• Oversee Investigator Sponsored Research, training, and scientific content development for local activities
• Review promotional materials and interact with HTA, HA, and External Experts
• Manage Medical Information and maintain cross‑functional alignment with regional/general MA
• Support cross‑functional collaboration to optimize resource allocation across TAs




• Develop and maintain a network of Key External Experts in Spain for relevant TAs
• Provide governance and strategic direction to affiliate MA teams and report on performance metrics
• Oversee delivery of affiliate plans, budget, and quality of execution with global operations
• Cultivate leadership and development within the MA team, including talent management and succession planning

Responsabilidades
• Medically qualified (MD, MBBS) with PhD or Masters preferred
• Fluent in Spanish and English (spoken and written)
• 10+ years in Pharma with experience in various Medical Affairs roles
• Strong knowledge of regulatory and industry laws, and compliance
• Experience in clinical development and medical program design, execution, and reporting
• Experience managing large Medical Affairs budgets and timelines
• Proven leadership in aligning medical strategies with corporate goals
• Understanding of Spain HTA environment and market access considerations
• Experience managing multicultural teams and matrix reporting
