Combine your business development expertise with a passion for international education as the Internship Placement Manager for Spain. In this role, you will take full ownership of growing and managing our host company network across Spain's premier business hubs, primarily focused on Barcelona and Madrid. At its heart, this is a placement and business development role: you will research prospects, drive cold outreach, pitch partnerships, and match ambitious international students with life-changing internship opportunities.
Reporting to Regional Leadership, you will drive the front-end sales pipeline during the sourcing season and transition into a relationship manager to ensure high-quality placement experiences. Placement Coordinator will support you with administrative tasks and interview scheduling so you can remain focused on high-value business development.
Employer-Facing & Business Development Responsibilities:
- Own and scale Absolute Internship's corporate network across Spain by researching, sourcing, and converting cold prospects into signed partners.
- Execute sustained outbound business development activity, including cold calling and direct outreach campaigns, to consistently expand the network.
- Target and secure overlooked opportunities, including multinational corporations with regional offices in Spain, growing tech scale-ups,
and international startup hubs.
- Develop project-based collaborations with companies during the low season to build a diverse pipeline beyond traditional internship models.
- Use the low season to strategically re-engage past host companies and secure early commitments for the upcoming cycle.
- Maintain an accurate, conversion-focused CRM pipeline to track every stage of the business development funnel.
- Bring localized market insights and business development data back to Regional Leadership to help shape broader Southern European expansion strategies.
- Match international students to the right host companies to guarantee mutually beneficial outcomes and successful program completions.
- Support students through interview preparation and placement readiness to ensure a confident first day on the job.
- Maintain rigorous quality standards across all host companies to protect the student experience and the Absolute Internship brand.
- Turn newly acquired accounts into long-term partners and brand advocates who return season after season.
- Oversee and direct the seasonal Placement Coordinator to ensure seamless interview scheduling and administrative execution.
- Collaborate closely with the Student Experience, Operations, and Regional Leadership teams to ensure flawless program delivery.
