Overview

As a Senior Software Engineer on Kraken’s Consumer team, you will shape the architecture of customer-facing Rust backend services that power trading, payments, and crypto experiences. You’ll translate ambiguous problems into shipped, measurable solutions and own end-to-end impact—from user experience to product metrics. You will collaborate with product leadership to influence roadmaps and drive cross-team initiatives, while mentoring others and advancing AI-assisted engineering practices. This is a chance to scale a mass-market crypto platform and deliver world-class user experiences.

Responsabilidades

- Own the architecture and delivery of customer-facing Rust backend services (trading, payments, crypto experiences)
- Break down multi-quarter problems into shippable work and coordinate parallel progress
- End-to-end ownership extending beyond API/backend boundaries to include frontend impact and product problem
- Collaborate with product leadership to shape roadmaps and define success metrics




- Drive cross-team initiatives across Kraken’s trading infrastructure and platform teams
- Mentor mid-level engineers, review designs, and establish patterns and standards
- Leverage AI to accelerate coding and validation, and define AI-assisted engineering practices

Requisitos principales

- 6+ years of backend engineering experience
- Deep Rust proficiency across network services, asynchronous code, and distributed systems (RPC, Kafka, event-driven architectures)
- Proven track record of architectural ownership in production
- Product engineering mindset with focus on customer experience and product metrics
- Experience mentoring, design review, or setting team-wide standards
- Experience leading work that spans teams or orgs and requires alignment and sequencing
- Active use of AI in development workflows and openness to AI-driven engineering
