At QIU, we are looking for Kitchen Assistants (Junior Cook) to fill various vacancies in several hotels across Madrid.

We are seeking responsible, proactive, organised individuals who enjoy working as part of a team and are eager to join professional kitchen environments, contributing to an excellent dining experience for hotel guests.

Candidates will have the opportunity to attend interviews with our hotel clients. We work with more than 50 national and international hotel chains.

What will your main responsibilities be?

The kitchen team plays a key role in ensuring the quality of the hotel's food and beverage service. Depending on the position and the type of service assigned, your main responsibilities may include:

- Preparing and organising the ingredients, utensils and equipment required before each service.
- Carrying out mise en place tasks, including washing, peeling, chopping and basic food preparation.
- Assisting chefs with the preparation and presentation of dishes, following their instructions and the hotel's quality standards.
- Supporting the preparation of breakfasts, buffets, set menus, restaurant service, banquets and events, depending on the position.
- Helping with buffet setup, replenishment and maintenance,



ensuring food is properly presented at all times.
- Monitoring and organising ingredients and supplies, assisting with their proper receipt, storage and preservation.
- Keeping work areas, kitchen equipment and utensils clean and organised.
- Complying with hygiene, food handling, food safety and workplace health and safety regulations.
- Supporting proper waste management and the efficient use of ingredients to minimise food waste.
- Working closely with the rest of the kitchen team to ensure smooth, efficient, well-organised and high-quality service.

We particularly value teamwork, organisational skills, attention to detail, efficiency and the ability to adapt during busy service periods.

Previous experience in hotel or restaurant kitchens, culinary training and knowledge of food handling and food safety procedures will also be considered an advantage.
