As a Field Service Engineer, you will be part of a growing Service Team and will be responsible for installing, commissioning, maintaining and troubleshooting advanced machinery and control systems at customer sites around the world.
Customer satisfaction, technical expertise, good preparation and a hands-on approach are key aspects of this role.
What will you be doing?
As a Field Service Engineer, your responsibilities will include:
- Preparing and carrying out the controls part of installation projects, including electrical cabinets, software and PLC systems;
- Installing, configuring, testing and commissioning control systems;
- Carrying out service and maintenance visits at customer sites;
- Analysing and resolving technical and production-related issues;
- Troubleshooting electrical, software and PLC-related problems;
- Supporting larger international installation projects and, when required, coordinating local employees;
- Maintaining close contact with customers and keeping them informed about project progress;
- Training customer employees on the use and operation of the equipment;
- Reporting completed work and technical findings to customers and colleagues;
- Working closely with experienced colleagues both at customer sites and in the office, who will help you develop your technical expertise.
Because this is an international position, you will regularly travel abroad and be away from home. You can expect to spend approximately 50–60% of your working time travelling internationally.
Projects and travel are planned well in advance. When creating the schedule, attention is paid to your holidays, important personal occasions and weekends whenever possible.
When you are not working at a customer site, you will spend time on:
- Preparing upcoming projects;
- Reporting and evaluating completed projects;
- Personal and technical training;
- Meetings with your manager and colleagues;
- Further developing your knowledge and becoming a specialist in your field.
About you
You are passionate about technology and enjoy combining technical problem-solving with international travel. You are customer-oriented, independent and versátil, and you remain calm when dealing with technical challenges.
You have:
- A Bachelor's degree in Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering, Automation Engineering or a related field, or a vocational-level technical degree combined with several years of relevant work experience;
- Experience with or a strong interest in building, modifying and wiring electrical control cabinets;
- Experience with software installation and configuration and/or PLC troubleshooting;
- A hands-on mentality and a structured, analytical approach to solving technical problems;
- An interest in process engineering and/or the food production industry;
- Good communication skills and a strong service-oriented attitude;
- A good command of the English language;
- Valid EU travel and work documents;
- A willingness to travel internationally approximately 50–60% of the time.
