Are you passionate about transforming data into real business impact? Camelina Company España is looking for a hands-on Data Platform & AI Engineer to take ownership of our Databricks environment and help shape the future of our data and AI capabilities.

In this key role, you'll work across the full data lifecycle---from building scalable ETL/ELT and streaming pipelines to deploying machine learning models, developing AI-powered solutions, and creating dashboards that support smarter decision-making.

What you'll do
- Build and optimize data pipelines using Databricks, PySpark, SQL, Delta Lake, Workflows, Auto Loader, and Delta Live Tables.
- Develop and deploy AI and machine learning solutions, including forecasting, anomaly detection, and LLM/RAG applications.
- Create impactful dashboards and reports with Databricks SQL, Power BI, Tableau, or similar tools.
- Manage data quality, governance, security, performance, and platform costs.
- Partner with operational, financial,



and commercial teams in Spain and the United States to turn business needs into reliable data products.

What we're looking for
- 3--5 years of hands-on data engineering experience.
- Strong knowledge of Databricks, Spark/PySpark, Delta Lake, SQL, and Python.
- Experience building production ETL/ELT pipelines from databases, APIs, files, and streaming sources.
- Experience deploying machine learning models with MLflow or similar tools.
- Knowledge of Azure and/or AWS cloud environments.
- Experience with modern BI and reporting tools.
- Full professional fluency in English and Spanish.
- Availability for regular working-hour overlap with our Pacific Time team.

Experience with Unity Catalog, CI/CD, Terraform, structured streaming, enterprise AI solutions , or the energy and industrial sectors will be highly valued.

This position is primarily office or home-office based in Madrid, with occasional travel to company sites, including Bakersfield, California.
