Overview

In this role you will design, operate, and safeguard scalable relational data systems to support latency‑sensitive applications. You’ll work within the Technology team to ensure reliability, high availability, and automated data infrastructure across PostgreSQL and MySQL environments. Your work will cover replication, performance tuning, backup and recovery, and IaC-driven provisioning to enable resilient, low‑latency services. You will mentor peers and help elevate engineering standards while participating in on‑call production support. This is a keystone role that shapes how we store, secure, and scale data across the organization.

Responsabilidades

- Build and maintain high-availability PostgreSQL (on‑prem and RDS) and MySQL systems tuned for latency‑sensitive workloads.
- Design and sustain provisioning, configuration, and deployment pipelines using Ansible and/or Terraform.
- Configure, manage, and troubleshoot multi‑region and multi‑node replication (Streaming/Logical for PostgreSQL; Galera/Group Replication for MySQL).
- Perform ongoing performance tuning of queries, indexes, and engine parameters to minimize downtime.
- Implement robust backup, recovery,



encryption, and security practices; run DR simulations.
- Monitor health and capacity, plan growth, apply updates and security patches as needed.
- Document policies, standards, schema designs, and runbooks to ensure operational consistency.
- Lead knowledge sharing and mentorship within the team; promote engineering excellence.
- Provide Tier 3 production support and participate in 24x7 on‑call as required.
- Maintain documentation and best practices for data infrastructure health and resilience.

Requisitos principales

- 5+ years of hands‑on production database experience (preferably in high‑throughput domains such as i‑gaming, fintech, or e‑commerce).
- Deep expertise in PostgreSQL and MySQL: architectures, tuning, and troubleshooting.
- Proven automation experience with Ansible and Terraform.
- Hands‑on HA experience with Patroni, PgBouncer, Galera Cluster, or MySQL InnoDB Cluster/Group Replication.
- Experience with latency‑sensitive, high‑volume database deployments.
- Comprehensive PITR, logical/physical backups, security hardening, and data integrity checks.
- Bash/Shell/Python scripting; familiarity with DBA tooling and monitoring suites.
