Build technology that takes people flying
Simworx designs and manufactures professional flight simulators for civilian, university and military customers around the world. We are looking for a practical IT technician to join our small team at our workshop in La Hoya, Lorca.
If you enjoy building PCs, solving technical problems and working with hardware, this is an opportunity to apply your skills to specialist simulation technology. Previous flight simulator experience is not required—we can teach you that part.
What you will do
Working alongside our engineering and production team, you will:
- Build and configure high-performance Windows PCs, including hardware, drivers and software.
- Install and configure X-Plane and associated simulator applications.
- Set up networks, multiple displays, USB devices and simulator controls.
- Diagnose and resolve computer, software, networking and peripheral faults.
- Help fit computers, displays, controls and electronic components into simulator structures.
- Assist with basic cable management, connections and low-voltage wiring.
- Test complete systems before dispatch and document their working configurations.
- Assist with installation and commissioning at customer sites.
- Provide remote technical support to customers.
As your experience develops, there may also be opportunities to work with VR, mixed reality,
advanced visual systems and specialist hardware interfaces.
What you will bring
We are looking for someone with:
- Strong practical knowledge of Windows PCs, hardware installation and troubleshooting.
- An understanding of basic IP networking.
- Experience in IT support, computer repair, systems integration or a similar practical technical role.
- A methodical approach to diagnosing faults and recording solutions.
- Confidence using tools and carrying out hands-on assembly work.
- The ability to research problems independently and ask for help when needed.
- Good organisation, reliability and a collaborative approach.
- A willingness to take ownership of technical problems and follow them through to resolution.
- Availability for occasional international travel.
Relevant vocational training, such as SMR or ASIR, is welcome, as is equivalent practical experience. A university degree is not essential.
Language requirements — English and Spanish
Excellent spoken and written English is essential.
Almost all of our international customers conduct business in English, and this person may eventually communicate directly with customers during installation and technical support. English is also used for day-to-day communication within our team.
You therefore need to be able to:
- Hold a technical conversation confidently in English.
- Understand detailed instructions.
- Explain technical problems clearly.
- Communicate professionally with customers.
- Write clear support emails and technical notes.
We would expect approximately advanced/C1-level English or equivalent practical ability.
Useful additional skills
Experience with any of the following would be an advantage, but is not essential:
- Gaming or workstation PC builds, NVIDIA graphics cards and BIOS/UEFI configuration.
- Multiple-monitor systems, VR or flight and racing simulators.
- X-Plane, Microsoft Flight Simulator or DCS.
- Basic electronics, cable assembly, soldering or using a multimeter.
- Reading simple wiring diagrams.
- Arduino, scripting or hardware interfaces.
You do not need to know every technology listed. We are interested in your practical ability, how you approach problems and your willingness to learn.
What we offer
- A salary of €26,000–€32,000 gross per year, depending on experience and technical ability.
- Training in our flight simulator systems and specialist technology.
- Varied work combining computers, hardware, testing and installation.
- The opportunity to contribute directly to simulators used by customers worldwide.
- A role in a small team where your work makes a visible difference.
