About the Role

Our client is seeking a proficient Civil Engineer to focus on roads and stormwater projects within the Queenstown, Eastern Cape region. This role is vital for the design, development, and maintenance of essential transportation and drainage infrastructure. You will be responsible for ensuring the functionality, safety, and sustainability of road networks and stormwater systems, contributing directly to the community's quality of life and economic development. The adecuado candidate possesses a strong understanding of road design principles, hydraulic engineering, and municipal infrastructure standards, coupled with practical site experience.

Key Responsibilities

- Design and plan new road construction and rehabilitation projects, including geometric design and pavement analysis.
- Develop designs for stormwater management systems, including culverts, channels, and detention/retention facilities.
- Ensure designs comply with relevant SANS standards, municipal bylaws, and environmental regulations.
- Prepare technical specifications, drawings, and bills of quantities for tender purposes.
- Supervise construction activities, conduct site inspections,



and ensure quality control for road and stormwater works.
- Liaise with clients, local authorities, and contractors throughout the project lifecycle.

Requirements

- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
- Professional registration with ECSA as a Professional Engineer (Pr. Eng.) or Professional Engineering Technologist (Pr. Tech. Eng.).
- A minimum of 5 years of experience specifically in the design and management of roads and stormwater projects.
- Proficiency in relevant design software such as AutoCAD Civil 3D, Civil Designer, or similar.
- Solid understanding of pavement design, traffic engineering principles, and hydraulic calculations for stormwater.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with strong communication skills.
