Offer Description
- Promoting participation in EU and international R&I; funding programmes (individual and collaborative calls): Identifying funding opportunities, disseminating calls for proposals (e.g., Horizon Europe clusters, MSCA, ERC, etc.), providing comprehensive end-to-end proposal advisory services, and conducting strategic fit analyses for research ideas.
- Proposal development and advisory services: Assisting researchers with early-stage proposal design, critical review of draft proposals, alignment with Work Programme priorities, and integration of EC cross-cutting dimensions (such as Open Science, Gender Mainstreaming, SSH integration, and Ethics).
- Strategic positioning, intelligence, and networking: Identifying target funding streams, carrying out strategic positioning to influence future Work Programmes, representing the university before Programme Committees, National Contact Points (NCPs), and actively participating in EU research / management networks.
- R&I; intelligence dissemination: Timely broadcasting of strategic research intelligence, call updates, and funding opportunities to the university research community.
Requirements
Research Field All Education Level Bachelor Degree or equivalent
Skills/Qualifications
- Professional Experience: Proven professional experience as an EU Project Officer/Advisor in a European Project Office (EPO)
or similar setting (preferably within higher education/universities), or in an EU research consultancy drafting proposals for competitive calls.
- Technical Skills: Strong technical skills to perform the duties of the post, specifically hands-on experience in drafting, writing, and/or reviewing competitive research project proposals.
- Domain Expertise: In-depth knowledge of the European Research and Innovation (R&I;) ecosystem, as well as the regulatory and administrative framework governing the EU Framework Programme (Horizon Europe).
Additional Assets
- Postgraduate & Specialized Training: Postgraduate qualifications or specialized training courses directly relevant to the duties and responsibilities of the post.
- National Funding & Institutional Capacity-Building: Prior experience as a team member in projects funded under the Spanish State R&I; Plan, specifically within capacity-building schemes such as the "Europa Redes y Gestores" calls or equivalent national instruments.
- Legal & Regulatory Knowledge: Sound understanding of the administrative and regulatory framework applicable to public universities and Public Research Organisations (PROs) in Spain.
- Professional Networks & Working Groups: Active participation in thematic working groups, expert panels, or professional networks related to research management and EU funding promotion.

Eligibility criteria
- Educational Qualifications: A university degree at MECES Level 2 (equivalent to Level 6 of the European Qualifications Framework – EQF).
