Role Summary:
The Project Manager will plan, direct, and ensure the successful outcome of projects utilizing the assigned project teams, as well as standards, practices, and toolsets established within Flowserve. You will work directly with internal and external stakeholders to ensure all project activity is regularly reported to the client and performed as per agreed technical specifications and project terms and conditions.
Responsibilities & Requirements:
- Demonstrate ownership and accountability for total project execution, performance, and safety (project initiation to project completion) on all assigned projects.
- Drive improved customer relationships through creating a work environment that is free of unfavorable circumstances or perceptions for either party, that meets or exceeds performance expectations of the customer.
- Ensure a "clean order" before commencement of work on an assigned project and utilize the change management system to control the scope of work and associated cost, throughout the life of the project.
- Coordinate activities of all matrix reports (per Project).
- Responsible for managing spending expectations on each assigned Project.
- Communicate to all concerned parties project milestones, status updates, as well as any existing or potential customer escalation issues. Follow the right escalation processes and take overall ownership of all reports.
- Experience in program/project management.
- Excellent presentation, oral and written communication skills, including meeting and workshop facilitation experience
- Team building, problem-solving, and conflict resolution skills
- Experience using Microsoft Office.
- Other duties as assigned.
Preferred Experience / Skills:
- Excellent estimating, scheduling & budgeting skills
- Proven experience in risk and change management
- Greenbelt, Blackbelt or Lean training experience preferred
- Rotating equipment experience
- Adaptability, flexibility, and proactivity.
- BS or BA Degree in relevant field and / or 0-2 years relevant experience

Position Overview:

We are seeking a Project Manager, the selected candidate will be responsible for the technical design, development, and implementation of automated material handling solutions for industrial clients.

This role combines project management, technical engineering, and customer coordination , ensuring the successful realization of projects from the RFQ (Request for Quotation) phase through to commissioning, always meeting budget, quality, and timing targets.

Key Responsibilities:

- Lead the technical design and development of customized automated material handling systems.
- Manage project budgets, schedules, and resources , ensuring adherence to technical and financial targets.
- Coordinate and review RFQ (Request for Quotation) documentation, preparing detailed cost estimations and feasibility analyses.
- Translate customer requirements into functional system designs and technical specifications.
- Collaborate with internal engineering teams (mechanical, electrical, software)



to ensure alignment across all project stages.
- Oversee the installation, testing, and commissioning phases, ensuring compliance with project objectives.
- Serve as a technical interface with customers, suppliers, and subcontractors, ensuring clear communication and smooth execution.
- Identify potential risks and propose corrective or preventive actions during the project lifecycle.

Requirements:

- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or related field) .
- Experience in managing or supporting engineering projects, ideally in automation, intralogistics, or material handling systems .
- Solid knowledge of RFQ processes , cost estimation, and project budgeting.
- Strong understanding of mechanical and electrical systems design , including integration of automated equipment.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills, with the ability to coordinate multidisciplinary teams.
- Proficiency in English (written and spoken).
- Availability to work on-site in Madrid and occasionally travel internationally.

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience in automated storage systems, conveyors, robotics, or warehouse logistics .
- Familiarity with SAP, AutoCAD, or similar engineering tools .
- Experience managing international projects with multiple stakeholders.

The expected salary range for this position is €35,000–€41,000 gross per annum. However, the final offer will be aligned with the candidate's level of experience, technical capabilities, skills, and the value they can bring to the project.

What you'll do (the role)

Summary

- Deliver project outputs to scope, time and budget: t ranslate project objectives into measurable milestones and acceptance criteria; execute plans to deliver agreed outputs, monitor spending and elevate deviations early to protect outcomes.
- Own operational plans and a single source of truth (SSoT): maintain and govern up to date project plans, task lists, backlogs, dates, owners, dependencies and risks so the team has one reliable dataset for prioritisation and decision making.
- Coordinate resources, vendors and cross project dependencies: secure and allocate internal and third‑party resources, manage capacity and portfolio overlaps, and proactively resolve inter‑project dependencies to keep delivery on track.
- Support stakeholder coordination, clear communication and decisions: proactively align stakeholders, prepare concise meeting artefacts, run decision focused forums, capture actions/owners and follow up to ensure timely inputs and approvals.
- Manage day to day risks, issues and change control end to end: own risk and issue logs, quantify impacts, implement mitigations, apply change control for scope/schedule/cost changes and elevate unresolved or high impact items to the senior PM or sponsor.
- Facilitate delivery team performance and capability: remove blockers, coordinate BAs and vendors, ensure tasks have owners and realistic estimates, and coach PM/BA colleagues to model strong delivery behaviors.
- Provide reliable reporting and drive continuous improvement: produce concise, data driven weekly status updates (R/Y/G, KPIs), track commitments vs outcomes, capture lessons learned and propose small process improvements to raise delivery quality.

Experience & Knowledge Required

- Strong understanding of project management approaches and methods
- Experience in agile and traditional (waterfall/hybrid) delivery methods and ability to tailor approaches as needed
