We are working with a financial services client who needs someone that can take messy source data and turn it into reporting people trust without question. Some of it ends up in front of regulators, so accuracy isn't optional. You'll own the whole chain, from the first pipeline to the final visual.
What a typical month might involve
Building a new ingestion flow in Synapse or Databricks and writing the T-SQL that shapes it into something usable
Sketching out a star schema for a reporting area nobody has modelled properly yet
Turning that model into a Power BI dashboard, complete with the DAX logic behind it
Sitting down with Product Owners and Business Analysts to work out what they actually need, not just what's on the ticket
Tidying up older SSRS and Tableau reports so every tool tells the same story
You’ll be a strong fit if you can…
Talk through a pipeline you designed and built with your own hands in ADF, Synapse or Databricks, including what you'd do differently now
Point to a live project where you worked in Databricks (PySpark, Delta Lake) or Synapse (SQL pools, pipelines), not one you read about
Write T-SQL that others end up borrowing
Explain why you'd pick a star schema over a snowflake, and when you wouldn't
Show Power BI work covering complex DAX and tabular models that real business users depend on
Back it up with a degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems or similar
A financial services or regulatory reporting background, hands-on SSRS or Tableau, CI/CD for BI releases, or Microsoft certifications such as PL-300 or DP-203.
