Role Purpose:
We are looking for a part-time Teaching Assistant in British Council Barcelona to support senior teachers and class teachers in delivering high-quality teaching and learning, while also helping ensure the care and well-being of children at the British Council.

We are looking for a candidate who can work in some of the time slots below:
Mon, Tues, Weds, Thurs (1700 - 1800h)
Tues and Thurs (13:45 - 14:45h)
Role Accountabilities:
The Teaching Assistant supports teachers in creating a safe, clean, and engaging environment for young learners. This includes setting up and clearing classrooms,



promoting positive behaviour, and ensuring the well-being and safety of children at all times—including during breaks and transitions. In the classroom, the assistant helps with planned activities, supports student learning, and uses appropriate English to encourage communication. They may assist with intimate care if needed. The Teaching Assistant will be expected to use English with children and staff.
The role also involves welcoming students, relaying important information, and supporting substitute teachers when necessary. Administrative support may be required occasionally.
For off-site teaching, the assistant helps manage student drop-off and pick-up and may support multiple groups of children as needed.
