Job Title Senior Software Engineer - Computer Vision
Do you enjoy building robust software solutions that translate visual data into intelligent operational decisions? As a Senior Software Engineer - AI Vision / Computer Vision, you will play a key role in developing innovative software capabilities that enable parcel handling systems to better understand and interpret their operational environment. You will combine strong software engineering expertise with practical experience in computer vision, image processing, AI models, and scalable software architectures.
Working together with product owners, architects, automation specialists, and fellow software engineers, you will help bring AI vision capabilities from concept and prototype to reliable, production-ready solutions used in some of the world's most advanced logistics environments.
Design, develop, and maintain software components for AI vision-enabled parcel management systems.
Develop software that processes image and camera data to support real-time decision making within automated logistics systems.
Ensure software is maintainable, testable, secure, and aligned with Vanderlande engineering standards.
Support prototyping, validation, system performance optimization, and deployment activities.
Help establish engineering best practices within the AI vision and software development domain.




You are an experienced software engineer who enjoys working on complex technical challenges and turning innovative ideas into high-quality software products.
A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Artificial Intelligence, Robotics, or a related field.
Extensive experience in software engineering, preferably within industrial automation, logistics, robotics, or other real-time environments.
Hands-on experience with computer vision, image processing, machine learning, or AI-based perception systems.
Experience designing and developing production-quality software using modern engineering practices.
Knowledge of software architectures, APIs, distributed systems, data processing pipelines, and system integrations.
A strong focus on software quality, performance, security, reliability, and maintainability.
Experience with computer vision frameworks such as OpenCV or similar technologies.
Knowledge of cloud-native architectures and modern DevOps practices.
