We are seeking an experienced Data Center Engineer to join a leading global technology services organisation, supporting data centre infrastructure operations across multiple locations for a major enterprise client. The role will focus on hands-on data centre infrastructure, including rack and stack operations, server and storage deployment, commissioning and decommissioning, hardware troubleshooting, cabling, power management, asset management, and operational support.

Location: Madrid, Spain - Hybrid (2–3 days per week in the office)
Contract: 6 months, with possibility of extension
Rate: €400 per day

Key Responsibilities

• Manage deployment, operations, and lifecycle activities of general data center infrastructure across multiple locations.
• Perform racking, stacking, installation, and commissioning of servers, storage systems, and associated data center hardware.
• Support data center infrastructure expansion, production onboarding, and hardware readiness activities.
• Execute decommissioning and retirement of legacy infrastructure, including servers and storage devices.




• Troubleshoot and resolve hardware-related issues involving power supplies, batteries, controllers, cabling, and connectivity components.
• Coordinate inter-site hardware movement, logistics activities, and vendor communications for infrastructure deployments.
• Maintain accurate asset inventory, lifecycle tracking, rack elevation details, and infrastructure documentation using DCIM tools such as SunBird, Device42.
• Utilize ITSM and project management tools including ServiceNow and Jira for incident management, request tracking, change management, and operational coordination.
• Collaborate with remote data center teams and cross-functional engineering groups to diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve operational incidents.
