Summary
CHS, Inc. has an exciting opportunity in our Transportation division for a Logistics Specialist to join the Ocean Freight Operations team. This position plays a pivotal role in ensuring the seamless and efficient transportation of agricultural products by vessel. The Logistics Specialist coordinates and optimizes vessel schedules to support timely deliveries and cost efficiency. The role works closely with internal teams, external partners, and regulatory bodies to navigate the complexities of ocean transportation while maintaining high standards of safety and compliance.
Proactive problem-solving and attention to detail contribute to the overall success of CHS logistics operations and support the company’s mission to connect farmers with integral markets.
This is a hybrid position, with an expectation of working in the office approximately three days per week, subject to change.
Responsibilities
• Coordinate day-to-day logistics activities required for the transportation of products by vessel end to end.
• Work with terminals, sales staff and other stakeholders on transportation schedules/dispatch tender loads to ensure timely and accurate execution of logistics movements via CHS contracted freight.
• Calculation and negotiation of vessel laytime at each loading and discharging port.
• Monitor vessels and statuses daily to ensure contracts are executed timely and appropriately, and identify risks.
