About Baker
Hi, it makes us really happy that you are reading this. It means there is at least some interest in working with us, or maybe it is just curiosity. We are David and Jacin, founders of Baker, the project of our lives. We are building an agentic platform to automate 100% of performance marketing. We sell the platform in 2 ways: as a service or as a product. As a service means we use the platform on the client's behalf and we operate as if we were a marketing agency. As a product means the client uses the platform on their own and we operate as if we were a SaaS.The vision: thanks to AI agents, most marketing will be automated. The mission: fully manage the paid channel of lead-based businesses through our own platform. We chose performance marketing because it runs on numbers and repetitive operational work, exactly what agents solve best. Our clients are lead-based businesses: education, B2B SaaS and the like. The bet is that agents will let a services company run with margins close to software. And on top of that, services move far more business than software. The window of opportunity is open now and nobody knows how long it will last. That is why we decided to jump in with everything. We want to be the biggest marketing agency in the world. Or at least the one that serves its clients best. It sounds delusional, we know it will be hard, but in the worst case we will have tried, and we are having fun on the way.
The role
You will run the accounts of our service clients. These are companies that trust us with their entire paid channel.Every client has one person who runs their account and does everything. There are no specialists behind you and no handoffs between teams. The goal is simple: make the campaigns work so well that the client wants to invest more and more.To get there you will run their campaigns on the ad platforms using Baker's platform. From the creatives and the landing pages to the tracking. Even going into the client's CRM when that is what it takes. We only do paid. We don't touch SEO or other channels. You will talk to the client almost every day. We usually set up a shared Slack channel. We don't ask the client what they want us to do. We do it and then we tell them. We are very proactive. And since you will use Baker's platform all day, you will be the one who sees best where it falls short and what is missing. The problems you spot end up being the product roadmap.
The technical side
We put a lot of effort into implementing a new client. Our view is that for AI to do most of the work, it needs access to the context, the tools and the particularities of each client.A lot of effort in the onboarding, less in the ongoing. Before anything launches, we check that tracking works from click to sale. That Tag Manager fires what it should. That the CRM sends offline conversions to Google and Meta. And that the platforms optimize on actions that make sense. For that we need you to be able to go into the client's CRM, whether it's HubSpot, Pipedrive, Salesforce or whatever they use.You don't need an engineering degree or a background as a developer. You can handle the code with tools like Claude Code. What you do need is to understand how it all works,
and not call it done until you've seen it working with your own eyes.If things get really technical, you'll always have help from the team.
You're a fit if
You have run lead generation accounts on Meta and Google for several years, with meaningful budgets. You have set up tracking yourself, without waiting for a technical team: Tag Manager, Conversions API and offline conversions from a CRM.You can walk into a meeting with your own opinion and defend it with data. If you think the client is wrong, you tell them. You like doing things before anyone asks you to.You speak Spanish and English fluently. You are optimistic about AI and believe the future is going to be amazing and exciting. You are hungry and want to grow as much as we do.
How we work
We are async by default. We communicate on Slack. No recurring meetings, no fixed schedule, no hour tracking. We measure the value you deliver. We are a very small team, horizontal, with no middle management. This is a list of things that defines how we think and work:
- Never do anything anyone tells you to do if you don't understand why.
- If you disagree, argue it. Either you convince us or we convince you.
- Don't pretend to know things you don't. Let's all put our cards on the table. This isn't a battle of egos, it's all of us together against the market.
- If you see something broken, fix it. You don't need permission. If you see something broken and it isn't part of your job, fix it anyway.
- You can break things as long as you learn why you broke them.
- We expect you to give feedback. We will mess up many times. You won't hurt our ego, quite the opposite, you'll push us to get better.
- You will receive feedback. It doesn't mean you're doing badly, not at all. It means our main goal is to grow together and feedback is the best mechanism for it.
- The starting point will usually be problems, not solutions. How to solve them is up to you.
- Let's never lie to each other. A single lie can break trust and make it impossible to keep working together.
- Cost matters a lot and it's often the forgotten variable. Something being good doesn't make it profitable.
- Transparency creates efficiency. Trying to hide things takes effort.
- It's fine to bang your head against the wall 2 or 3 times. But on the 4th, ask for help.
- There will be moments when you feel frustrated. Tell us. We'll get through them together.
- Manage your time however you want. We are not going to monitor anything. What we expect isn't hours, it's value delivered.
- Have fun. Work is a high % of our life, we'd better enjoy it.
Compensation and benefits
We have a transparent career path that we can share with you in the first interview. For this role, the OTE is between €40,000 and €60,000 a year: a fixed salary of €30,000 to €44,000 plus the variable you earn on your own book. The variable is uncapped and paid quarterly: 8% of everything your accounts invoice in the quarter, minus 40% of the monthly fee of any client you lose. It is never negative,
and losses that are not down to your work (a client going bankrupt, being acquired, freezing their marketing budget, or bringing it in-house) do not count against you.The fixed band is a starting point. We grow people as fast as the company grows. On equity: we don't have the package closed yet, but we want everyone on the team to own a piece of the company and we are working on it. If after a few months we see it is a fit, we sit down with you to put a scenario on the table.
23 working days of vacation, plus December 24th and December 31st.
We prefer Barcelona or Valencia, but it can also be fully remote.
What you'd earn
The fixed salary is agreed when you join, inside the band, and as variable you earn 8% of everything your accounts make us invoice, with no cap.
Fixed salary €36,000
Accounts you run 4 accounts
How many clients you carry at once. Capacity grows as the platform improves, so this number grows with you.
Average monthly fee per account €2,000
What a service client pays Baker every month, usually between €1,500 and €3,000.
That is €8,000 of recurring revenue a month, €96,000 invoiced over the year.
8% of the €96,000 your accounts invoice in the year.
Your year €43,680
The variable is paid quarterly, so around €1,920 per payment.
Churn is the other half of the formula: every client you lose takes 40% of their monthly fee out of that quarter's variable, so keeping an account is worth as much as adding one. It never goes negative. These numbers are an illustration.
The fit test
You know why a form fill is almost never the conversion you should send to Google, and you'd know how to set up the one that is.
About us
We are a very small, brand new company. The window for AI-native businesses is open now and we want to be aggressive while it lasts. It is going to be hard. We think this is the opportunity of our lifetime, and we want it to be yours too.
What's the process?
The process is the following:
1. A one-hour interview with Jacin, where we see if there is a cultural fit. It's a relaxed conversation, with questions about your interests, what you have done and whether there is a match.
2. A second interview with David, where we work through a one-hour practical case on an account: campaigns, tracking and CRM.
3. That's it. If you are a fit, we send you an offer letter.
How we think Four ideas that shape every decision at Baker.
Transparency
Hiding takes effort. Being open is efficient. Put your weaknesses on the table, share ideas even if you think they're dumb, and don't be afraid to share publicly.
Lean by design
We think big and stay small. No middle management, minimal bureaucracy, and from idea to production in minutes, not weeks. Few meetings. Long uninterrupted stretches of work are the norm.
High ownership
We own outcomes, not just our tasks. We make decisions, act with autonomy, and look for solutions instead of excuses. When we see something that needs doing, we don't wait for someone to tell us: we do it. We ask for help when we need it, but we never stop feeling responsible for the final result.
Nobody asked for it
Doing your job well is service. Doing something for someone they didn't ask for is hospitality. We want both, with clients and with each other.
