JOIN KLEO AND SHAPE HOW EUROPE'S COMPANIES ACCESS FINANCING ?
Kleo (www.kleohub.com) is an AI-native platform that helps companies find, match, manage, and monitor their entire financing stack: public grants, bank lending and private capital, through automated, end-to-end workflows. We replace a process that has traditionally depended on slow, manual, relationship-driven intermediaries with software.
Proactive funding!
We're growing fast and we're looking for a talented UX/UI Designer to own the user experience and interface design of Kleo's platform and help us scale across Europe.
Our product is complex, data-heavy and full of business logic. Your mission is to make it clear, intuitive and easy to use. You'll work closely with the founders, Engineering and the teams who interact with our customers, taking design from understanding the problem through to the finished interface.
What you'll do
- Own UX/UI from end to end: understand user needs, map workflows, explore solutions, create prototypes and deliver polished interfaces ready for implementation.
- Turn complex financing processes into intuitive experiences, with clear navigation, information hierarchy and interactions that help users understand what to do next.
- Gather and validate insights through user conversations, usability testing, customer feedback and available product data. Choose practical research methods that fit the question and the pace of a startup.
- Design complete experiences, including onboarding, forms, dashboards, empty states, loading states, errors and edge cases, with accessibility and responsive behaviour built in.
- Maintain and evolve our UI kit, built around shadcn/ui in both Figma and our front-end. Keep components consistent, align design with implementation and develop the foundations of a scalable design system.
- Work closely with engineers throughout implementation, resolving trade-offs together and reviewing the experience that reaches users.
- Contribute to Kleo's website and support Marketing with reusable templates or visual assets when needed, with product UX/UI taking priority.
What we're looking for
- Experience: a senior designer with around 6+ years of relevant experience, backed by a portfolio demonstrating strong UX thinking and excellent interface design.
- UX expertise: you can take an ambiguous problem, understand users and constraints, and turn it into clear information architecture, flows and interactions.
- Excellent UI craft: strong command of typography, hierarchy, spacing, colour and interaction states.
You care about both how an experience works and how it looks.
- Practical research and validation skills: you know how to test assumptions, identify usability problems and use what you learn to improve your designs.
- A systems mindset: experience designing and maintaining reusable components for a live product, in close collaboration with engineers. Familiarity with shadcn/ui, Radix or similar component foundations is a plus.
- Strong Figma skills across interaction design, prototyping, components, auto layout and developer handoff.
- Ownership and independent judgment: you're comfortable driving the design process, explaining your decisions and moving work forward without needing a fully defined brief.
- Strong collaboration: proven experience working with both business and technical stakeholders, understanding their needs and constraints, explaining design decisions and aligning on UX/UI solutions that balance user needs, business goals and technical feasibility.
- Adaptability: you can iterate quickly and revisit your designs as requirements change or new evidence emerges.
- Spanish: native or fluent proficiency, as we communicate mainly in Spanish within the team.
- English: strong working proficiency, especially in reading and writing. Our product and documentation are in English, so you should be comfortable writing clear UI copy and documenting your design decisions in English. No formal certification needed.
Nice to have
- Product management knowledge, including prioritisation, defining problems and success metrics, and connecting user needs with business goals. This will help you collaborate across the company, while your main responsibility remains UX/UI design.
- Experience with B2B SaaS, fintech or other complex, data-heavy product companies.
- Website and landing page design with a focus on usability and conversion.
- Visual design, motion or micro-interaction skills.
Don't meet every single requirement? If you meet most of them, have a strong portfolio and are eager to grow, apply anyway.
How we work
You'll be the person driving UX/UI at Kleo, with direct access to the founders and close collaboration with Engineering and customer-facing teams. You'll have room to shape the approach,
ask questions and influence decisions from the start.
We make informed decisions and stay open to changing them. We value useful research, thoughtful execution and constructive feedback, with a focus on shipping improvements and learning from how people use them.
What Kleo offers
- A competitive salary, matched to your experience and skills.
- Real ownership of Kleo's user experience and interface design, with a direct impact on how businesses access and manage financing.
- A collaborative startup environment, working closely with the founders, Engineering and customer-facing teams.
- 23 vacation days per year, because work-life balance matters.
- Real growth potential as Kleo scales, with room to deepen your expertise and take broader responsibility within design.
- The opportunity to participate in phantom shares in the future, so you share in the upside you help build.
- Hybrid model: 2 days in the office in Madrid (Cuzco area) and 3 days from home.
- Flexibility: a adaptable schedule that fits your life and priorities. Christmas, Easter and summer are fully remote if you want, with shorter working days throughout August and every Friday (jornada intensiva).
Why join Kleo?
- We're on a mission to fix financing for companies, using AI to remove the complexity and inefficiency that has held them back for decades.
- You'll solve meaningful design challenges, making complex workflows understandable and helping businesses move forward with confidence.
- You'll join at a pivotal moment, shaping both the product experience and how we approach design as the company grows.
How to apply
Send us your portfolio, including real product work that shows both your UX process and your UI craft. We'd like to understand the problem, your contribution, the decisions you made and the final result. If you have evidence of how your designs performed, we'd love to see it.
In three lines, tell us about a design assumption that changed after user feedback or testing, and how you responded.
If you care deeply about user experience, enjoy startup life and want to build something meaningful with us, we’d love to hear from you.
At Kleo, we welcome applicants from all backgrounds, abilities and experiences. We make employment decisions based on merit and are committed to equal opportunity regardless of race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, age, marital status, disability or any other legally protected characteristic.
