About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and hands-on Accounting Manager to lead our accounting operations and ensure the highest standards of financial accuracy, compliance, and reporting. As a key member of the Finance team, you will oversee the company's accounting processes, supervise day-to-day financial activities, and act as a trusted partner to the Finance Director in supporting business performance and strategic decision-making.

Key Responsibilities
Accounting & Financial Management
Lead and oversee the preparation and maintenance of accurate accounting records for all business transactions.
Manage the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing processes.
Ensure compliance with Spanish accounting standards, tax legislation, and internal policies.
Review and approve journal entries, reconciliations, and financial reports.
Prepare management reports and provide financial analysis to support business decisions.
Maintain and continuously improve accounting processes, controls, and procedures.
Tax & Compliance
Oversee the preparation and submission of all tax filings, including VAT, IRPF, Intrastat, Form 349, and other statutory obligations.
Ensure full compliance with local regulatory and fiscal requirements.
Manage relationships with external advisors, tax consultants, and regulatory bodies.
Experience with the Immediate Supply of Information (SII) system is highly valued.
Treasury & Cash Management
Supervise accounts receivable and accounts payable activities.
Monitor cash flow, customer collections, and supplier payments.
Oversee banking operations, including payment runs, transfers, direct debit remittances, and treasury management.
Support cash forecasting and working capital optimization.
Payroll & Reporting




Oversee payroll accounting and related reconciliations.
Manage the accounting treatment of commissions and other special transactions.
Ensure the integrity and maintenance of digital financial records and documentation.
Audit & Stakeholder Management
Coordinate the annual external audit process.
Serve as the primary point of contact for auditors and external accounting advisors.
Prepare supporting documentation and ensure timely resolution of audit queries.
Support the Finance Director with budgeting, forecasting, and strategic finance projects.
Qualifications & Experience
Required
Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
Minimum of 10 years of progressive accounting experience, including significant exposure to accounting management responsibilities within SMEs.
Strong knowledge of Spanish accounting, tax, and financial reporting requirements.
Proven experience working with ERP systems, preferably Microsoft Dynamics BC (Navision).
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
English proficiency at B2 (First Certificate) level or higher.
Preferred
Experience managing or mentoring accounting team members.
Knowledge of SII reporting requirements.
Experience in international accounting environments (US) and cross-border transactions.
