Joining Arup
Arup’s purpose, shared values and collaborative approach has set us apart for over 75 years, guiding how we shape a better world.
Arup is the creative force at the heart of many of the world’s most prominent projects in the built and natural environment. Working in more than 140 countries, the firm’s designers, engineers, architects, planners, consultants, and technical specialists work with our clients on innovative projects of the highest quality and impact. As a wholly independent organisation, we are owned in trust for the benefit of our employees and their dependants: with no shareholders or external investors we determine our own business priorities and direction.
The Opportunity
Join our dynamic EIMEA Marketing, Communications & Business Development (MCBD) team to play a pivotal role in supporting our internal communications initiatives.
We’re looking for an enthusiastic and dynamic Internal Communications Coordinator with around 2-3 years'
experience to join our growing team across EIMEA. This is a fantastic opportunity to develop your communication skill set while helping shape how we engage with our people across diverse geographies, cultures, and business areas.
You’ll be part of a collaborative internal communications team and support a broad range of activities, including employee and executive communications, content creation, member engagement and strategic communications programmes.
In this role, you'll provide coordination, content creation, and reporting on communication performance and engagement. You'll create engaging content, help manage communication channels, support regional events, and contribute to projects that meet our strategic priorities.
You'll work closely with internal communications professionals across EIMEA and benefit from ongoing professional development opportunities through our Marketing, Communications and Business Development (MCBD) network. If you're passionate about storytelling, engagement, and making a difference through communication, we'd love to hear from you.
Key Responsibilities
- Excellent writing skills with a strong command of English grammar and communication principles
- Proven ability to deliver internal communications content quickly and effectively
- Create engaging content across internal communication channels and platforms
- Translate complex business information into clear, accessible communications
- Support executive and leadership communications when required
- Organise and coordinate internal events, briefings, and employee engagement activities
- Collaborate effectively with stakeholders across teams, cultures, and geographies
- Support change management initiatives through effective communication planning
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially PowerPoint and Teams)
- Ability to learn and use tools such as Poppulo and SharePoint
- Ability to analyse and interpret digital engagement and performance data
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to prioritise competing demands
- Resilient, adaptable, and able to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
- Curious mindset and eagerness to engage across the business to drive impactful communications
- Experience in internal communications rather than marketing, external communications, PR, media, or sales roles
Is this role right for you? If you thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment and enjoy crafting compelling content that resonates with diverse audiences, this role could be a great fit. You’ll bring fresh ideas, a curious mindset, and a willingness to experiment with new approaches to internal engagement. Whether you're experienced in internal communications or looking to grow in this space, we’re looking for someone who’s proactive, organised, and excited to contribute to a integral team.
