CD Castellón is a historic football club competing in the Spanish professional football system, currently playing in LaLiga2. The club operates under an integrated, data-driven football model that connects game model, recruitment, performance, and individual player development. Within this model, the U19 and B team play a key role in bridging the gap between the Academy and the First Team.

Emerging Talent Recruitment is a key part of the club’s sporting model and long-term sustainability strategy. The club aims to identify, recruit, and develop high-potential players aged 16-21, combining data-driven player identification with structured football evaluation. The objective is to create a clear pathway through the U19 and the B Team towards the First Team, consistently

ROLE PURPOSE The Emerging Talent Recruitment Analyst is responsible for the identification, video evaluation, and continuous monitoring of high-potential players aged 16–21, primarily to support recruitment for the U19 and the B Team.

The role is focused on video scouting and talent identification, combining systematic coverage of assigned leagues and competitions with the evaluation of specific players identified through the club’s recruitment process. The position is responsible for producing written and video player reports, and for keeping player information, positional depth charts and talent pools up to date in the club’s recruitment database.

The role contributes to the club’s recruitment strategy by:

- Identifying high-potential players aged 16–21 who fit the club’s sporting requirements.
- Building a sustainable talent pipeline for the U19, B Team and ultimately the First Team.
- Providing high-quality written and video player evaluations to support recruitment decisions.

RESPONSIBILITIES





- Talent Identification & Market Coverage

- Proactively identify high-potential players aged 16–21 through systematic video scouting across assigned domestic and international leagues.
- Monitor youth competitions, academies, reserve teams, lower divisions and youth national teams, developing in depth knowledge of the relevant player pool.
- Identify emerging talent and potential market opportunities, including academy releases, contractual situations and undervalued players.

2. Player Evaluation & Reporting
- Evaluate players according to the club’s game model, positional profiles and scouting methodology, assessing both current performance and future potential.
- Evaluate on video the specific players flagged by the club’s data department.
- Produce clear, structured and evidence-based written scouting reports and player recommendations.
- Create individual player video reports and clips to support evaluations and recruitment decisions.
- Present and discuss relevant players in recruitment meetings, providing clear recommendations supported by video evidence.

3. Database Management & Talent Monitoring
- Maintain and continuously update the Emerging Talent revcruitment database (player inovmration, evaluations, and recruitment status) by position, age, level, potential and recruitment priority.
- Create and maintain positional depth charts,



watchlists and talent pools for assigned leagues and competitions.
- Monitor priority players, tracking their development, performance and relevance as potential recruitment targets.
- Support U19 and B Team squad planning by maintaining sufficient player alternatives for priority positions

COMPETENCIES KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

- Strong tactical knowledge and understanding of talent identification and player evaluation.
- Strong understanding of player potential and the transition from youth to professional football.
- Previous experience as a Scout, Recruitment Analyst, Coach or Performance Analyst within a professional club or elite academy, evaluating U17-U21 players.
- Strong video scouting skills and experience using platforms such as Wyscout, Hudl or similar.
- Knowledge of Spanish emerging-talent landscape, particularly División de Honor, Tercera RFEF and Segunda RFEF.
- Ability to assess players according to current performance, future potential, positional profile and game model fit.
- Ability to produce clear, concise and evidence-based written and video player reports.
- High level of organisation, attention to detail, curiosity, confidentiality and professional integrity.
- UEFA B License or equivalent.
- Fluency in English and Spanish.
