QIAGEN seeks a Plastics Engineer to manage the complete lifecycle of injection-molded plastic components in Barcelona, from development through production. The role involves technical oversight of components in a regulated pharmaceutical environment, collaborating with internal teams and general suppliers to deliver high-quality manufacturing solutions.
Responsibilities
Qualify and validate production tools for plastic components
Prepare and coordinate initial sample inspection reports with internal and external teams
Manage technical changes and deviations in regulated manufacturing settings
Perform technical evaluations and process error and deviation reports
Lead technical projects for injection-molded parts from specification through series launch
Requirements
Degree in Plastics Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent technical qualification
Hands-on experience with tool qualification and tool release processes
Strong knowledge of injection molding and tool technology
Experience managing changes and deviations in regulated (GMP, pharmaceutical) environments
Background in industrialization and serial production of integrated assemblies
Proficiency with CAD programs and fluent English (written and spoken)
Willingness to travel internationally within Europe and North America; German a plus
