Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Profesor de Matemáticas Secundaria role based in Oviedo at Palacio de Granda.

The Mathematics

Teacher will plan, deliver, and assess engaging math lessons aligned with the secondary curriculum, adapting teaching methods to diverse learning styles and levels. The role includes preparing instructional materials, assigning and grading classwork and homework, and providing constructive feedback to support learners’ progress. The teacher will monitor student performance, maintain accurate records, and communicate regularly with families and colleagues to promote academic success and well-being. Additional responsibilities include participating in departmental meetings, contributing to school projects and events, and supporting a positive, inclusive classroom environment that encourages critical thinking and problem-solving.

Qualifications

- Strong knowledge of secondary-level mathematics content (algebra, geometry, trigonometry, and related topics) and the ability to explain complex concepts clearly.




- Experience designing lesson plans, assessments, and learning activities that align with curriculum standards and support varied learning needs.
- Proficiency in classroom management, fostering student engagement, and creating a safe, respectful, and inclusive learning environment.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills for working with students, families, and multidisciplinary teaching teams.
- Competence using educational technology and digital tools to enhance teaching, assessment, and student feedback.
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Mathematics, Education, or a closely related field; relevant teaching certification for secondary education is highly desirable.
- Prior experience teaching mathematics at the secondary level or in a similar educational setting is preferred.
- Commitment to continuous professional development and openness to innovative, student-centered teaching methodologies.
