About Us
Founded in 2006, AVS Added Value Solutions is a leading high-tech engineering company with 20 years of experience delivering complex, pivotal projects across Fusion Energy, Scientific Innovation, Particle Accelerators, and Space.
Our track record includes three proprietary LUR-family satellites currently in orbit, which have successfully demonstrated the maturity of our platform architecture, subsystems, and LEO operations. Building on this flight heritage, we leverage our modular LUR-100 platform to support demanding institutional missions, including the ESA ARRAKIHS project and the development of the Canary Islands Satellite Constellation (Constelación Canaria).
To drive these ambitious initiatives forward, we are currently scaling our Space Division to advance our SmallSat technical leadership and integration capabilities.
About the Role
As the AIT Lead Engineer, you will serve as the technical authority and hands-on lead for all Assembly, Integration, Testing, and Verification (AIT&V;) activities across our spacecraft missions. Reporting to project and engineering leadership, you will define the overall AIT technical philosophy, model flow, and verification approach. You will prepare and review AIT related documentation, lead and supervise cleanroom integration and testing activities, troubleshoot complex technical anomalies, define Ground Support Equipment (GSE) architecture, and supervise major environmental test campaigns (TVAC, Vibration, EMC) to ensure our SmallSat missions achieve complete flight readiness.
Key Responsibilities
- Technical Leadership: Act as the primary technical lead for all AIT activities across spacecraft assembly, integration, and testing phases.
- AIT & Model Philosophy: Define the overall technical AIT philosophy, model philosophy, AIT activities flow, and overall verification approach for spacecraft and payload projects.
- Planning & Strategy: Lead the preparation and maintenance of the AIT Plan, prepare high-level test plans, and define technical approaches for major test campaigns in coordination with relevant engineering disciplines.
- Procedures & Technical Approval: Review and technically approve AIT integration and test procedures and reports. Prepare AIT and test procedures when required, particularly for complex or critical activities.
- Cleanroom Supervision: Provide direct technical supervision of spacecraft assembly, integration, and test activities within cleanroom environments.
- Troubleshooting & NRBs: Lead technical troubleshooting and anomaly investigations during AIT, representing AIT engineering at Non-Conformance Review Boards (NRBs).
- Technical Decision-Making: Take key technical decisions related to the execution of AIT activities and flight readiness verification.
- GSE Architecture & Procurement: Define Ground Support Equipment (GSE/EGSE/MGSE) architecture, capabilities, and technical requirements. Prepare or supervise technical specifications and RFP documentation for major purchases, and technically supervise GSE development and supplier activities.
- Environmental Test Campaigns: Participate in and technically supervise vibration, thermal vacuum (TVAC), EMC, and other major environmental test campaigns at external test facilities.
What We Are Looking For
We welcome candidates with diverse backgrounds and recognize that great technical talent comes from various paths. If you meet most of the following criteria, we encourage you to apply:
- Agile & Pragmatic Mindset: Comfortable operating in a lean, fast-paced SME or compact team environment where technical adaptability, hands-on problem solving, and resourcefulness are required.
- Spacecraft AIT Experience: Demonstrated track record (typically 6–10+ years) in spacecraft or complex payload AIT/AIV,
acting as technical lead or senior AIT/AIV engineer on full satellite lifecycle projects.
- Verification & Model Philosophy: Deep understanding of ECSS standards, Verification Control Documents (VCD), qualification vs. acceptance model philosophies, and test flow definition.
- Cleanroom & Campaign Operations: Proven hands-on experience in ISO cleanroom environments, mechanical/electrical integration, and external environmental test campaigns (TVAC, Vibration, EMC, Mass Properties).
- GSE & Supplier Technical Oversight: Strong technical knowledge of Mechanical and Electrical Ground Support Equipment (MGSE/EGSE) architecture, RFPs, and supplier technical management.
- Anomaly Resolution & Rigor: Excellence in systematic anomaly investigation, root-cause analysis, and presentation of corrective actions in NRBs.
- Language Skills: Advanced proficiency in English (written and spoken) is essential; working knowledge of Spanish is a valuable asset.
- Launch Campaign Experience: Previous experience in performing launch campaigns is a strong asset.
We Offer
- Work-Life Balance: Versátil working hours.
- Structured Onboarding: Comprehensive onboarding program including a dedicated 'buddy' during your first months.
How to Apply & Application Guidelines
- Submissions: Interested candidates should submit their CV directly to
[email protected].
- Work Eligibility Notice: Applicants must hold EU or UK citizenship or an existing valid full work permit for Spain or the UK. Employer visa sponsorship is strictly unavailable.
- Work Model Notice: On-site presence at our cleanroom and external test facilities is required during physical integration and test campaigns, while strategy, documentation, and planning tasks can be conducted in a hybrid model.
