About Us
Founded in 2006, AVS Added Value Solutions is a leading high-tech engineering company with 20 years of experience delivering complex, pivotal projects across Fusion Energy, Scientific Innovation, Particle Accelerators, and Space.
Our track record includes three proprietary LUR-family satellites currently in orbit, which have successfully demonstrated the maturity of our platform architecture, subsystems, and LEO operations. Building on this flight heritage, we leverage our modular LUR-100 platform to support demanding institutional missions, including the ESA ARRAKIHS project and the development of the Canary Islands Satellite Constellation (Constelación Canaria).
To drive these ambitious initiatives forward, we are currently scaling our Space Division to strengthen our electrical architecture, FlatSat verification, and satellite integration capabilities.
About the Role
As the Electrical AIT Engineer, you will serve as the technical focal point for all electrical, electronic, and harness integration activities across our spacecraft missions. Working closely with Systems Engineering, Payload Specialists, AIT Leadership, and PA/QA, you will define the FlatSat electrical architecture, design test jigs and breakout interfaces, prepare incoming unit test procedures, and execute electrical integration and checkout for flight hardware. Your technical expertise will ensure that spacecraft power, data, harness, and avionics interfaces perform seamlessly across all operational and environmental phases.
Key Responsibilities
- Electrical Focal Point: Act as the primary AIT engineering focal point for all electrical, electronic, and avionics activities throughout the spacecraft assembly, integration, and test lifecycle.
- Acceptance & Unit Test Procedures: Prepare incoming and acceptance test procedures for spacecraft electrical and electronic units prior to mechanical and electrical integration.
- Spacecraft Electrical Integration: Prepare spacecraft-level electrical integration, harness checkout, and system functional test procedures.
- Unit & Harness Checkout: Support hands-on electrical integration and electrical checkout of spacecraft avionics units, payloads,
harnesses, and electrical interfaces.
- FlatSat Electrical Architecture: Define the FlatSat electrical architecture and technical implementation to ensure representative hardware-in-the-loop validation.
- Harness & Hardware Design: Design FlatSat-specific harnessing, power breakout boxes, and custom electrical interface hardware.
- Test Jigs & Cables: Define electrical test jigs, breakout interfaces, unit test cables, and ground checkout hardware required for AIT activities.
- FlatSat Maintenance: Maintain the FlatSat testbed in a fully functional, calibrated, and flight-representative configuration throughout project phases.
- Electrical Troubleshooting: Support electrical troubleshooting, signal integrity verification, and anomaly investigation during FlatSat and Flight Model (FM) activities.
- Lab Equipment Selection: Support the definition, specification, and selection of electrical laboratory test equipment (oscilloscopes, power supplies, logic analysers, EGSE).
- Environmental Campaign Support: Provide dedicated electrical AIT support during environmental test campaigns (TVAC, Vibration, EMC) and spacecraft functional testing.
What We Are Looking For
We welcome candidates with diverse engineering backgrounds and recognize that exceptional technical talent comes from various paths. If you meet most of the following criteria, we encourage you to apply:
- Agile Mindset: Comfortable operating in a lean, fast-paced SME or compact team environment where technical adaptability, hands-on problem solving, and resourcefulness is essential.
- Spacecraft Electrical Experience: Demonstrated track record (typically 3–6+ years, minimum 2 years) in spacecraft or complex high-reliability electronic systems integration and testing.
- FlatSat & EGSE Architecture:
Proven experience in defining, setting up, and operating FlatSat testbeds, hardware-in-the-loop (HITL) simulation, and EGSE setup.
- Harness & Test Hardware Design: Hands-on expertise in electrical harness design, test cable fabrication oversight, breakout jigs, and electrical interface testing.
- Troubleshooting Skills: Extensive experience diagnosing electrical anomalies, signal noise, grounding issues, and harness faults on high-value hardware.
- Standard & Tool Knowledge: Familiarity with ECSS space engineering standards (electrical, harness, EMC), Altium or schematic tools, and laboratory instrumentation.
- Electrical Test Equipment: Hands-on experience with electronic laboratory equipment and tools (oscilloscope, power supply, electronic load, …).
- Data Interfaces: Experience with data interfaces such as CAN, RS422/485, I2C, SPI.
- Language Skills: Advanced proficiency in English (written and spoken) is essential; working knowledge of Spanish is a strong asset.
Nice to have skills
- Radiofrequency: Knowledge in RF test equipment (Spectrum Analyzer, VNA).
- Programming Skills: Knowledge and experience in developing test scripts for automated testing in Python or an equivalent language.
We Offer
- Hybrid Work Model: Flexible working setup balancing hands-on laboratory/cleanroom activities with hybrid preparation and design tasks.
- Work-Life Balance: Adaptable working hours.
- Structured Onboarding: Comprehensive onboarding program including a dedicated buddy during your first months.
How to Apply & Application Guidelines
- Submissions: Interested candidates should submit their CV directly to
[email protected].
- Work Eligibility Notice: Applicants must hold EU or UK citizenship or an existing valid full work permit for Spain or the UK. Employer visa sponsorship is strictly unavailable.
- Work Model Notice: On-site presence at our cleanroom and external test facilities is required during physical integration and test campaigns, while strategy, documentation, and planning tasks can be conducted in a hybrid model.
Ubicación del trabajo: Empleo presencial
