Job Description

The Opportunity

As an Engineering Manager, you will lead high-impact teams focused on the evolution of Flywire’s core payment architecture.

You are a strategic leader who balances deep technical vision with exceptional people leadership, serving as a player-coach to drive the automation of complex global payment processes.

Team Development: Responsible for performance management, professional development, and hiring to optimize team capability within budget.

Engineering Excellence

System Evolution: Quality Governance:



Establish high standards through thorough design reviews and sustainable engineering practices like TDD and CI/CD.

Global Influence: Build strong relationships with business stakeholders and senior engineers across the general organization to refine infrastructure requirements.

Qualifications

Here’s What We’re Looking For: Management Experience3+ years of experience managing and mentoring engineering teams, with a proven track record in performance management and hiring.

Technical Foundations7+ years of software engineering experience focusing on high-availability production systems and distributed architecture.

Leadership & Communication

Strong ability to navigate complex business issues, influence senior leaders, and communicate technical subjects clearly to non-technical partners.
