We're looking for a Senior Java Engineer to join our team in Malaga, Spain in a remote working mode. In this role, you will develop and enhance backend services supporting MLS Touch and MLS Client, two mobile applications enabling real estate professionals and their clients to collaborate seamlessly throughout the property search and transaction journey.You will design and maintain REST APIs, scalable microservices, and optimized data layers, ensuring security, performance and reliability. The position requires availability to work under a US-aligned schedule: approximately 2:00 PM – 10:00 PM Spain time (ending at 3:00 PM CST). This schedule is essential to collaborate effectively with the distributed team and stakeholders.This role offers the opportunity to leverage modern Java technologies, optimize backend architectures and make use of AI-assisted development tools to enhance code quality and productivity.ResponsibilitiesDesign, develop and enhance backend services using Java and Spring BootBuild and maintain REST APIs for mobile applications and external integrationsWork with MySQL databases, including schema design, query optimization and troubleshootingContribute to the design and improvement of a scalable, microservices-based architectureImplement secure, maintainable and well-tested code following engineering best practicesDiagnose defects, resolve production incidents and performance bottlenecksParticipate in code reviews, solution design and technical discussionsCollaborate with developers, QA engineers and product teams to deliver backend componentsEnsure observability,
