Offer Description
The Centro de Astrobiología (CAB, CSIC-INTA) is looking for a researcher to contribute to the development of PyVOSA, a Python-based software project designed to bring the capabilities of the VOSA web service into a Python-based workflow.
PyVOSA is being developed as an automated and reproducible workflow for the analysis of multi-wavelength photometric data. The tool is designed to retrieve information from major astronomical catalogues and surveys,
and to prepare these data for the construction and analysis of spectral energy distributions (SEDs).
The successful candidate will contribute to the development, optimisation and expansion of PyVOSA, with particular emphasis on software development, Virtual Observatory technologies and the integration of different astronomical data services. The project will provide an opportunity to work at the intersection of astronomical data science, software engineering, and Virtual Observatory technologies in the context of the large-scale datasets produced by modern astronomical surveys.
