About Us

We are looking for someone with a strong entrepreneurial mindset and interest in being part of a Startup and having a big impact on its direction. The person will be ideally interested in becoming a member and taking on a leadership role. This opportunity is perfect for someone with a part-time or full-time job who would like to advise and dedicate a couple of hours a week while we become profitable.

What will you be doing?

- Content Planning: Research and develop a content calendar aligned with SOMOS' mission and the interests of our integral Latino audience.
- Editorial Coordination: Collaborate with contributors, guest writers, and the SOMOS team to commission, review, and edit blog posts.
- Audience Insight: Use analytics tools, surveys, and community feedback to understand what resonates with our readers and adapt content strategies accordingly.
- Publishing & Promotion: Oversee the publishing process on our digital platforms and coordinate with social media to maximise reach and engagement.
- Reporting:



Track blog performance, generate monthly reports with key metrics, and recommend improvements based on data and reader behaviour.

What We Do for You:

- Mentorship & Feedback: Guidance on UX methodologies, regular reviews, and best-practice sharing.
- Courses and trainings as part of SOMOS Internship.
- Visibility & Portfolio: Your insights will be applied directly in the SOMOS digital product.

What We Are Looking For:

- Bilingual proficiency: Being fluent in English and either Spanish or Portuguese is essential for this role as it would require communication with both the UK-based startup team and the Latin American community. Fluency in both Portuguese and Spanish or any other Latin American language could also be an added advantage.
- Cultural sensitivity: A deep understanding and appreciation of Latin American culture, customs, and traditions is important for this role as the events will be catering to a diverse audience.
- Technical skills: The candidate should be comfortable working with various event management software, video conferencing tools, and other virtual event platforms.
- Flexibility and adaptability: The candidate should be able to handle unexpected challenges and changes in the event plans with ease, be able to multitask and prioritize tasks.
- Passion for entrepreneurship: A passion for entrepreneurship and a keen interest in the startup ecosystem is desirable as it would help the candidate understand the startup's goals, vision, and audience better.

Requirements

- Being fluent in English and/or Portuguese or Spanish. Besides that, being passionate about Latin America and connecting with Latinos, the rest could be learnt.
