In this role you will own the data-layer for a large PostgreSQL-based system on Amazon Aurora, ensuring high performance and reliability at enterprise scale. You will balance day-to-day operations with longer automation projects, shaping data models and deployment practices for cross-functional teams. Own day-to-day PostgreSQL operations across production data centers (indexing, query-plan analysis, schema reviews, migrations)
Collaborate with application teams on data-model decisions and scaling concerns
Tune and operate Aurora PostgreSQL (parameter groups, replicas, failover, capacity planning)
Automate deployments and maintenance (Terraform + Ansible) for upgrades, switchover, and provisioning
Lead incident response and RCAs for database issues, tracking follow-up actions




Enhance database observability (postgres_exporter, VictoriaMetrics dashboards/alerts)
5+ years of hands-on operational PostgreSQL experience (DBA / reliability)
~ Strong experience with multi-TB table performance tuning and indexing
~ Production experience with Aurora or RDS; Terraform and Infrastructure-as-Code proficiency; Linux comfort
~ Scripting ability (Bash, Python or Go); Cloud experience (AWS) with solid incident-management and RCA skills
