STARTING DECEMBER in Gibraltar, we are looking for a qualified and experienced sailing Deck/Stew to join a professional crew of four aboard a world-cruising Oyster 885. This is an exciting opportunity for a capable, adaptable Deck/Stew to support an ambitious transatlantic and Pacific cruising programme while delivering consistently high standards of service.
The yacht will be crossing the Atlantic in January, sailing directly for the Panama Canal before continuing into the Pacific for an extended programme of remote and adventurous cruising.
Having already completed one circumnavigation, the owners are keen to spend more time exploring the Pacific before exploring new destinations of Indonesia and possibly Japan. They will join the yacht periodically throughout the voyage and expect a polished,
professional level of service whenever they are on board.
This role will suit an experienced Stew who knows their way around the Deck too. The successful candidate will have a couple of seasons of sailing experience under their belt and be a competent watch-keeper. The ability to work in a small team is key and candidate's characters must be easy going, honest, practical and no nonsense. Strong references are essential.
