Located directly on the beachfront along Marbella’s scenic promenade and just a five-minute walk from Plaza de los Naranjos, El Fuerte Marbella features 266 luxury rooms, casual luxury design, and sweeping views. To direct and oversee technical operations across our entire property, we are seeking an experienced, detail-oriented Maintenance Manager / Head of Maintenance (Jefe/a de Mantenimiento) in Marbella, Spain.
In this key leadership role, you will coordinate corrective maintenance, oversee technical-legal and preventive maintenance plans, and manage the annual facility budget. Specifically, you will lead the technical crew, monitor energy efficiency initiatives, supervise spare parts inventories, and enforce regulatory compliance across all resort infrastructure.
Job Description: Maintenance Manager (El Fuerte Marbella 5)
Your Mission: Operational Reliability & Engineering Excellence
Your primary goal involves driving total facility integrity and operational efficiency across our 5-star resort. To achieve this, you will execute comprehensive preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance programs. At the same time, you will keep utility costs optimized and regulatory standards strictly enforced. Therefore, you will direct technical crews, supervise repairs, manage spare parts inventories, and ensure environmental and safety compliance. As a result, you will eliminate equipment downtime and protect our resort’s reputation for 5-star luxury excellence.
Your Key Responsibilities:
- Maintenance Planning & Execution: Plan, execute, and deliver preventive, predictive,
planned inspection, and technical-legal maintenance programs across all resort installations and machinery.
- Incident & Corrective Management: Supervise facility inspections to identify and resolve breakdowns rapidly, maintaining detailed maintenance logs and following general management directives.
- Team Leadership & Resource Management: Direct maintenance staff in incident resolution. In addition, manage work shifts, vacation schedules, and absences, while supporting team training alongside Human Resources.
- Budget & Spare Parts Control: Oversee maintenance expenditures, control annual department budgets, track spare parts stock, and place supply orders when needed.
- Energy Management & Sustainability: Monitor and manage energy and water consumption according to corporate Energy Department guidelines. In addition, supervise urban and hazardous waste segregation protocols.
- Regulatory Compliance & Safety: Enforce industry standards and technical regulations applicable to luxury hotels, including REBT (electrical), RITE (thermal installations), Legionella control, Gas regulations, and Occupational Health and Safety (PRL).
Who You Are: The Experienced Engineering Leader
- Proven Foundations: You bring at least 4 years of demonstrable work experience as a Maintenance Manager within hotels, commercial properties, or luxury residential complexes.
- Educational Background:
You hold a Degree in Technical/Industrial Engineering, or an Advanced Vocational Degree (FP I/II, Grado Medio/Superior) in Electricity and Electronics, Installation & Maintenance, or Energy & Water. Certifications in Maintenance Management (CMMI) and Pest Control (DDD) are highly valued.
- Technical & Regulatory Knowledge: You possess comprehensive knowledge of maintenance management software (CMMS), office software, and applicable Spanish regulations (REBT, RITE, Legionella, Gas, PRL).
- The Linguist: You display B1-level proficiency in English alongside fluent Spanish. Knowledge of additional languages is considered a valuable plus.
- Mobility: You hold a valid driver’s license and own a vehicle.
- Key Competencies: You demonstrate strong team leadership, budget management, analytical problem-solving, and a committed approach to environmental safety and cleanliness.
