Join the research team of DrivABLE-CM – “Personalized Driving Solutions Through Neuroscience and AI”, contributing to the study of how motor and functional impairments associated with neurological conditions, particularly stroke and acquired brain injury, affect driving performance.
The position will focus on the clinical, functional, and physiotherapy-related components of the project, including the assessment of participants with stroke/acquired brain injury and healthy controls, as well as participation in the development and implementation of experimental protocols designed to objectively evaluate fitness to drive.
DrivABLE integrates clinical and functional assessments with data obtained from driving simulators and multimodal monitoring systems to develop objective driving assessment methods and personalized driving assistance solutions for people with neurological conditions.

Skills/Qualifications
Knowledge and/or experience in neurological physiotherapy and neurorehabilitation, particularly in the assessment of motor and functional impairments associated with stroke, acquired brain injury, neurodegenerative diseases, or movement disorders.
Experience in standardized functional assessment, including mobility, gait, balance, coordination, motor control, strength, functional independence, and activities of daily living, will be particularly relevant.
Knowledge of clinical research methodology, clinical trials, research database management, data collection and analysis,
and statistical analysis will be considered an asset.
Additional desirable qualifications include experience in scientific literature searches, critical appraisal, systematic review methodology, scientific writing, and research dissemination, together with a good command of scientific English.
Knowledge or experience in movement analysis, virtual reality, non-invasive neuromodulation, neurophysiology, rehabilitation technologies, driving simulators, or functional simulation environments will also be considered an asset.
Specific Requirements
The successful candidate will contribute to the clinical and experimental research activities of the DrivABLE project, including:
- Recruitment, screening, and functional/motor assessment of participants with stroke/acquired brain injury and healthy controls.
- Administration of standardized assessments of mobility, balance, coordination, gait, strength, motor control, functional independence, and activities of daily living.
- Evaluation of motor and functional impairments relevant to driving performance.
- Participation in the development and implementation of driving assessment protocols and simulator-based experimental sessions.
- Collection, management, quality control, and analysis of clinical, functional, motor, and driving-related data.
- Support with statistical analysis and research database management.
- Scientific literature review and contribution to systematic reviews, scientific reports, conference communications, manuscripts, and publications.
- Collaboration within a multidisciplinary clinical and technological research team involving physiotherapists, neuropsychologists, neurologists, engineers, and other project partners.

Eligibility criteria
Research and/or clinical experience in neurological physiotherapy, neurorehabilitation, stroke, acquired brain injury, neurodegenerative diseases, or movement disorders will be considered an asset.
Additional desirable experience and skills include:
- Functional and motor assessment of neurological patients.
- Experience in mobility, gait, balance, coordination, motor control, strength, and functional rehabilitation.
- Participation in clinical or neurorehabilitation research projects.
- Experience in clinical research methodology or clinical trials.
- Collection, management, and statistical analysis of research data.
- Familiarity with driving simulators, virtual reality, movement analysis, rehabilitation technologies, or functional assessment environments.
- Authorship or co-authorship of scientific publications or systematic reviews and/or participation in scientific conferences.
- Knowledge of neurophysiology or non-invasive neuromodulation.
- Ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary clinical and technological research teams.
The selection process will consist of an initial assessment of the candidates’ CVs based on their qualifications, clinical and research experience, and suitability for the position.
