About the Unit / Research Group

Alterations in lipids and lipoproteins are not only key causal factors in atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease and overall cardiovascular risk, but are also closely associated with the development of other relevant conditions, such as type 2 diabetes, metabolic syndrome, obesity, Alzheimer’s disease and certain types of cancer.

In this context,



the group’s research lines focus on gaining a deeper understanding of the role of lipid alterations in these diseases, with the aim of identifying and developing new biomarkers and potential targeted therapies that may contribute to improving diagnosis, risk stratification and the clinical management of participants.

- Minimum qualification required: Higher Education qualification (University Degree or equivalent).
- Oral and written knowledge of both official languages of Catalonia or, failing this, the selected candidate must demonstrate, or commit to acquiring within a maximum period of one year, an adequate command of both official languages of Catalonia.
- Advanced level of English.
- Advanced proficiency in office software tools (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.).
- Experience and knowledge in methods for measuring plasma lipids and lipoproteins.
- Practical experience in the application of statistical methods.
