The position is associated with the project METASOILs “Community metaphylogeography of European soil fauna: integrating Quaternary legacies, ecological traits and anthropogenic change to uncover hidden soil biodiversity.” The project investigates how Quaternary history, ecological specialisation, habitat structure and human-mediated species introductions shape the genetic and community-level diversity of soil mesofauna across a European latitudinal gradient. xqbhyrx

It combines whole-organism community DNA metabarcoding, haplotype-level analyses, phylogeography, community ecology and large-scale spatial modelling.
