Senior Financial Analyst, Technology

About the Role

Hims & Hers is seeking a Senior Financial Analyst for the Technology organization to take charge of financial planning and analysis (FP&A;). Reporting to the Director of FP&A;, you will manage the daily planning, forecasting, and analytical processes for one of the company's key cost centers, which includes areas such as headcount, equity, and cloud infrastructure. This role will allow you to have a significant impact by translating operational activities into financial insights and decisions. In this high-visibility role, you will collaborate directly with both Technology and Finance leadership, ensuring that financial trade-offs are optimized and operational decisions are aligned with the company’s strategic goals. You will be responsible for developing detailed budgets and financial models that provide clarity on expenditure and enable effective resource management.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead the monthly forecasting process for the Technology organization, covering headcount costs, equity, stock-based compensation (SBC), and other operating expenses.
- Conduct detailed budget-versus-actuals (BvA) analysis monthly, identifying drivers, explaining variances, and highlighting risks and opportunities.
- Prepare the monthly budget presentation and accompanying analyses, translating complex numbers into actionable narratives for leadership.
- Manage headcount pacing and collaborate with hiring managers on role prioritization, timing, and backfills in alignment with plans.
- Oversee other operational expenses, ensuring that spending remains within budget and corresponds with the established plan.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive financial models for cloud and infrastructure expenditures, including commercial inference and consumption-based costs, in partnership with Technology leaders.
- Facilitate resource tagging and initiative-level tracking to enhance transparency and accountability regarding expenditures.




- Collaborate on trade-off decisions and articulate the financial implications of strategic and operational initiatives.

Required Skills

- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related discipline, or equivalent experience.
- A minimum of 4 years’ experience in FP&A;, finance business partnership, strategic finance, or another analytical domain.
- At least 4 years’ proficiency in building and manipulating financial models and large datasets using Excel or Google Sheets.
- Strong expertise in forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis with an ability to interconnect detailed data and overarching strategies.
- Excellent communication skills, with a proven ability to cultivate trustworthy relationships with non-finance stakeholders and explain financial concepts to technical audiences.
- A proactive mindset with a readiness to take ownership and act in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

Preferred Skills

- Experience working alongside Technology, Engineering, or Product teams.
- Knowledge of cloud infrastructure cost modeling (e.g., AWS, GCP, Azure) and understanding of usage-based cost structures, particularly in areas related to AI/ML compute or inference spending.
- Background in equity and SBC forecasting.
- Familiarity with ERP and planning systems (e.g., Oracle NetSuite, Anaplan, Pigment, or equivalent).
