Join us in Munich as a Senior Tax Analyst and help drive direct tax compliance for one of Amazon's most complex and highest-growth entity portfolios in Europe.You'll own tax reporting and compliance for a portfolio of Amazon's German and EMEA legal entities, working directly with cross-functional partners across Accounting, Legal, and Transfer PricingBe part of a team actively deploying GenAI and automation tools to modernize how tax compliance gets done at scaleGain exposure to high-complexity, high-visibility work: statutory filings, tax authority correspondence, audits, and cross-border restructuring projectsWork in a fast-paced environment with real ownership, real impact, from day oneMunich-based role with direct collaboration across a globally distributed EMEA tax teamKey job responsibilitiesWorking within the EMEA Foreign Reporting & Compliance team, the Senior Tax Analyst will:Prepare and review foreign income tax returns, tax filings, and supporting work papers for EMEA legal entitiesPrepare and review foreign income tax provisions under IFRS and/or Local GAAPPrepare and review estimated tax payments and local income tax paymentsSupport income tax accounting and reporting under US GAAP for SEC reporting purposesSupport international tax controversy teams during tax audits and authority correspondencePartner with Accounting, Transfer Pricing, and other stakeholders to ensure accurate,
timely tax reportingDrive process improvement and automation initiatives across the tax reporting and compliance lifecycle, including the use of Artificial IntelligenceSupport regular reporting of key metrics to ManagementParticipate in special projects, including tax due diligence and integration support for M&AAbout; the teamThe Amazon Tax department is a fast-paced, collaborative, high-ownership environment.
The EMEA Foreign Reporting & Compliance team manages the worldwide tax-related filings and local tax reporting compliance of Amazon's foreign entities — a portfolio growing in scale and complexity as the business expands across the region.We pair deep tax technical expertise with a strong focus on process improvement and automation, including AI, to modernize tax complianceTeam members collaborate closely with Accounting, Legal, and Transfer Pricing across multiple countriesOur Teammembers own their portfolio of entities and jurisdictions from day one — good ideas get implemented here, not just discussedBasic QualificationsKnowledge of strong understanding of tax compliance principles, regulations, and reporting requirements across jurisdictionsBachelor's degree in finance, accounting or related field, or a Bachelor's degree and experience in tax, finance or a related analytical fieldExperience a direct tax role in a multinational and/or professional organizationSpeak, write,
and read fluently in German and English at C1 level or abovePreferred QualificationsExperience liaising with tax authorities including responding to audits and information requestsExperience managing multiple projects and priorities across teams in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environmentExperience with written and verbal communication and presentationMaster's degree or equivalent professional qualification in tax (e.G., Steuerberater) or a related fieldExperience with German corporate income tax (Körperschaftsteuer) and trade tax (Gewerbesteuer) compliance and reportingExperience with German tax filing software (e.G., DATEV, DefTax) and e-Bilanz submission processesFamiliarity with income tax provisions under IFRS and/or Local GAAP (HGB), and exposure to US GAAP income tax reporting for SEC purposesStrong computer skills including MS Office;
