The role is based in an EPCM (Engineering, Procurement and Construction Management) environment and plays a key part in logistics planning, contractor coordination, and the optimization of material, equipment, and machinery flows throughout the construction phase.
What will your role involve?
- Develop and maintain the Site Logistics Plan, defining site access points, traffic routes, unloading areas, storage and laydown areas, parking facilities, temporary facilities, and waste management arrangements.
- Plan and coordinate deliveries of materials, equipment, and supplies, aligning delivery dates and time slots with the Procurement and Construction teams, contractors, and suppliers to prevent congestion and operational conflicts.
- Manage site access and traffic, establishing traffic management plans, vehicle and machinery routes, access restrictions, and pedestrian–vehicle segregation measures in coordination with the EHS team.
- Optimize laydown and storage areas, allocating space to different contractors, monitoring the location of materials and equipment, and ensuring the efficient use of available space.
- Coordinate logistics interfaces between contractors, resolving conflicts related to access points, unloading areas, lifting zones, temporary roads, and shared facilities.
- Align logistics planning with the construction schedule, working closely with the Construction Manager and Planning team to anticipate requirements, identify constraints, and minimize potential impacts on project timelines.
- Coordinate heavy logistics operations and major lifting activities,
including special transport, crane movements, access arrangements, and equipment positioning, taking into account the needs of different work fronts.
What are we looking for?
- University degree in Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering, Project Management, or a related discipline.
- At least 15 years of experience in Site Logistics Management on major capital investment projects (CAPEX exceeding €100 million) in sectors such as industry, infrastructure, energy, or Oil & Gas.
- Proven experience in EPC/EPCM projects and multi-contractor environments, including complex brownfield and greenfield construction projects.
- Experience in EPCM, PMC (Project Management Consultancy), or owner’s representative environments, with a strong understanding of project planning and schedule control, document control, risk management, and project reporting.
- Ability to coordinate multidisciplinary teams, work independently, manage complex interfaces, and deliver efficient technical solutions.
- Advanced French (minimum C1 level, preferably native or near-native) and advanced English (minimum C1 level).
- Reference letters from previous clients demonstrating experience and performance on similar projects will be considered a significant advantage.
What do we offer?
- The opportunity to join a major industrial project in Saint-Nazaire, France.
- The chance to work in a multidisciplinary EPCM environment, interacting directly with the Construction, Planning, Procurement, and EHS teams, as well as various contractors.
- A key role in construction site logistics coordination, with responsibility for access planning, material deliveries, storage, and heavy logistics operations. xghoner
