Overview

Satāya is representing a globally recognised entertainment and lifestyle hotel brand in the appointment of a Director of Sales & Marketing for their flagship Mediterranean property. Widely known for a bold and distinctive approach to hospitality, this brand commands significant international presence and attracts a high-profile, globally mobile guest profile. The Malta property sits at the intersection of music, culture, and luxury hospitality and has quickly established itself as one of the Mediterranean's most talked-about destinations.

As the business matures and sharpens its commercial ambitions, the focus now turns to building a sales and marketing function that is truly fit for the brand's scale and reputation. The Director of Sales & Marketing will take full ownership of the property's commercial strategy — from market positioning and key account development through to digital marketing, PR, and revenue collaboration — operating as a core member of the Executive Committee and reporting directly to the General Manager.

The successful candidate will be a commercially driven, creatively intelligent senior leader with deep knowledge of European hospitality markets and the confidence to represent a high-profile brand at the highest level.

Scope of Role

-

- Lead the development, implementation and ongoing review of the hotel's annual sales and marketing strategy in line with business objectives and brand standards.

- Drive the property's commercial positioning across leisure, corporate, MICE, group, and luxury segments — locally and internationally.

- Identify new market opportunities, emerging business segments and revenue-generating partnerships.

- Monitor market trends, competitor activity, destination performance, and shifting customer behaviour; adapt strategy accordingly.

- Lead the annual budgeting and business planning process for the department, ensuring effective resource allocation and measurable return on investment.

2) Sales & Business Development

-

- Lead the hotel's B2B and B2C sales strategy across all relevant market segments.

- Establish and maintain strong relationships with key accounts, tour operators, travel advisors, destination management companies, MICE planners, and corporate clients.

- Drive new business acquisition whilst retaining and deepening existing account relationships.

- Oversee all sales activity — client meetings, property site inspections, familiarisation trips, trade shows, roadshows, and sales missions.

- Develop strategic partnerships that increase direct bookings, group business, corporate production, and long-stay opportunities.

- Maintain active commercial relationships across key feeder markets including the UK, DACH, Italy, France, Eastern Europe, and the Nordics.

- Work closely with the brand's integral sales channels to maximise international reach and optimise business mix.

- Establish clear sales targets and monitor individual and departmental performance against agreed KPIs.

- Lead the development and execution of the hotel's annual marketing, communications, PR, and digital strategy.

- Oversee digital marketing activities, social media, content strategy, influencer partnerships, and online campaigns.

- Manage relationships with PR agencies, media partners, content creators, and external marketing partners.

- Work closely with Revenue Management to support pricing, forecasting, inventory, segmentation,

and revenue optimisation strategies.

- Participate actively in revenue and commercial meetings, contributing market intelligence and sales insights to inform decision-making.

Ideal Candidate Profile

-

- A minimum of 6 years' experience in senior hospitality sales and marketing leadership roles.

- Proven ability to drive commercial performance across leisure, corporate, MICE, and group segments in competitive, high-profile environments.

- Strong knowledge of European feeder markets including the UK, DACH, France, Italy, Eastern Europe, and the Nordics.

- Solid background in digital marketing, branding, PR, and business development.

- Experience managing agency relationships, external partners, and integrated marketing campaigns.

- A strategic mindset with proven commercial acumen, strong negotiation skills, and the ability to operate at Executive Committee level.

- Excellent leadership and people development capabilities, with a track record of building and inspiring high-performing teams.

- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Hospitality, Marketing, or Business.

- Fluency in English; additional European languages are a distinct advantage.

- Willingness to relocate to Malta and travel frequently for business development purposes.

Why Our Client

-

- Lead the commercial function of one of the Mediterranean's most distinctive and internationally recognised hospitality brands.

- Operate at Executive Committee level with the full mandate, resources, and senior support to make a genuine commercial impact.

- Work within a globally established brand that brings significant marketing equity, an international guest profile, and the creative energy of a truly unique hospitality concept.

- Represent a property that offers far more than a hotel stay — a destination rooted in culture, entertainment, and extraordinary guest experience. xcskxlj

- Competitive remuneration and a genuine opportunity to shape the commercial trajectory of a high-profile Mediterranean property at a defining moment in its journey.
