The Economic Research Area

is institutionally responsible for preparing and coordinating all macroeconomic forecasts for Santander Bank for the Group’s main forums and Committees. It also conducts macroeconomic and macro-financial analysis of the Group’s key countries and business units,



while advising Senior Management on the economic scenarios relevant to strategic decision-making
Within the department, the Latin America area coordinates the macroeconomic analysis of the countries where Santander has a presence in the region and integrates local perspectives into a coherent regional view connected to the Group’s general economic outlook. It also participates in the design and preparation of the macroeconomic scenarios used in planning processes and stress-testing exercises, in close collaboration with the local Economic Research teams and the relevant corporate areas.
