We are seeking an experienced Director of Software Engineering to lead the modernisation of our legacy applications and drive our cloud-based transformation. In this role, you will design and implement a scalable microservices platform, mentor high-performing engineering teams, and ensure the delivery of large-scale, high-performance applications in a regulated environment. Your expertise in Java, cloud technologies, DevOps, and microservices architecture will be critical in shaping our technical roadmap and fostering a culture of innovation and excellence.

What will you be doing?
Technical Leadership & Strategy

Define and execute the technical vision for modernising legacy systems, ensuring alignment with business goals and regulatory requirements.
·Lead the design and implementation of a cloud-native microservices platform, optimising for scalability, performance, and resilience.
Drive the cloud transformation strategy,



including migration, optimisation, and cost management.
Champion DevOps best practices, including CI/CD, infrastructure as code (IaC), and observability, to accelerate delivery and improve reliability.

Team Building & Mentorship

Build, lead, and mentor high-performing engineering teams, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.
Develop and retain top talent, providing technical guidance and career growth opportunities.
Bridge the gap between engineering, product, and business stakeholders, ensuring clear communication and alignment on priorities.

Architecture & Development
