Overview
In this role you will shape fire safety solutions across buildings and industrial facilities, applying performance-based engineering and code-compliant practices. You will work within AECOM Spain’s Building Services Engineering team to deliver multi-disciplinary projects and drive risk-informed design. You’ll collaborate in design reviews, coordination meetings, and system sizing to support safe, resilient environments. This is a high-impact position in a global firm that values technical excellence and cross-functional teamwork.

Responsabilidades
Develop and review fire protection designs through concept, basic and detailed phases
Perform fire risk assessments and support fire engineering studies
Participate in multidisciplinary design coordination meetings and provide fire protection expertise
Review contractor and vendor submissions for code and specification compliance
Design and specify passive fire protection systems




Review architectural/structural drawings for fire compartmentation
Design and review active fire protection systems, including detection and alarm
Prepare detection layouts, cause-and-effect matrices, and system narratives
Coordinate detection strategies for high-risk environments
Support system testing, commissioning, and acceptance activities
Review integration with building management, security, and emergency systems
Perform hydraulic calculations and assist with system sizing
Review vendor calculations, submittals, and equipment selections
Requisitos principales
Bachelor’s degree in Fire Protection Engineering or a closely related discipline
Fluent in English (spoken and written)
Minimum 3 years of relevant Fire Protection Design Engineering experience
Experience with international and local codes/standards (NFPA, IFC/IBC, EN/BS, FM Global Data Sheets) and performance-based design
