The Role

The Technical Account Manager (TAM) is a strategic customer advisor and business outcome leader who partners with enterprise customers to drive measurable security value and cyber resiliency. This is a senior, consultative role that operates at the intersection of technology and business strategy—engaging at the CISO and executive level while maintaining the technical depth necessary to guide complex Proofpoint deployments.

The TAM serves as a trusted executive consultant, proactively identifying strategic risks, architecting adoption and value realization plans, and coaching customers on aligning Proofpoint capabilities to their broader security and business frameworks. While the role has evolved to lead with strategic advisory, a strong technical and security software foundation remains essential.
