Overview

As a System & Protection Test Engineer, you will ensure the quality, reliability, and performance of industrial automation and power distribution products. You will work within the engineering team to execute comprehensive test campaigns, diagnose issues, and validate system behavior across hardware, software, and communication interfaces. The role focuses on protecting functions and power system applications, contributing to robust product releases. Responsabilidades

- Execute tests for hardware, software, and complete system solutions across the product lifecycle
- Test and validate electrical protection functions (overcurrent, short-circuit, earth fault, directional protection, coordination)
- Configure, run, and document functional, integration, regression, and system-level tests
- Verify interoperability with external devices, RTUs, SCADA, and customer infrastructures
- Align product configurations with customer use cases and realistic operating conditions
- Analyze failures to identify root causes and support corrective actions
- Develop and improve manual and automated test setups to increase coverage and efficiency




- Operate laboratory equipment safely following procedures and best practices
- Generate comprehensive test reports and communicate findings to cross-functional teams
- Support product releases ensuring quality, performance, and reliability
- Contribute to continuous improvement of testing methodologies, tools, and processes

Requisitos principales

- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related discipline
- Strong knowledge of electrical protection principles and protection functions
- Experience testing, configuring, commissioning, or supporting protection devices and electrical automation systems
- Solid understanding of power distribution and electrical protection applications
- Experience testing hardware and software in industrial environments
- Knowledge of IEC 61850, Modbus, DNP3, IEC 60870-5-104
- Experience configuring and troubleshooting communication networks and devices
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills; ability to identify root causes independently
- Good communication and teamwork skills
- Professional proficiency in English
- Nice to Have: RTUs/SCADA/substation automation experience; protection relays; IEC/IEEE standards; automated testing scripting (Python, Robot Framework); cybersecurity concepts; laboratory equipment handling
