IMDEA Nanociencia is a non-profit research foundation based in Madrid, dedicated to advancing basic nanoscience and developing cutting-edge nanotechnology applications in partnership with innovative industries. The group led by Prof. Hermans is very multidisciplinary and doing research in fluidics for chemistry and medical devices, and in supramolecular chemistry. The team is highly international (> 10 nationalities), and work is done 90% in English.

Role Description

We are seeking a motivated and hands-on technician with a background in mechanical engineering, electromechanical engineering, mechatronics or a related field. The candidate should be comfortable working directly with mechanical components, fluidic systems and experimental setups. Previous experience with mechanical assembly, pumps, fluidics or laboratory prototyping would be highly valuable. Experience with pressure-flow (Q-P) measurements and pump performance characterization would be an advantage. Good practical skills, attention to detail and troubleshooting abilities are essential.



Good communication skills in English are a valuable asset.

Qualifications
- Technical background in mechanics, electronics, or related fields, with experience in assembling mechanical and electromechanical systems.
- Skills in using laboratory instruments and characterization equipment (e.g., measurement devices, sensors, data acquisition systems) for testing components and systems.
- Ability to follow technical drawings, schematics, and standard operating procedures, with attention to detail and quality control.
- Basic data analysis and reporting skills, including recording experimental results and preparing concise technical documentation.
- Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks in a laboratory environment.
- Capacity to work collaboratively in multidisciplinary teams and communicate effectively with researchers and technical staff.
