From requirement to orbit: satellite systems engineering at DAS Photonics
At DAS Photonics, part of the EM&E; group, we are hiring a Satellite Systems Engineer to define, integrate and validate satellite systems for defence and Earth observation, with real technical ownership of the complete system.
? Your mission
You will be responsible for the systems engineering of satellite platforms and payloads, from requirements definition through to verification and validation, acting as the link between subsystem teams, the customer and the rest of the project functions. Your main responsibilities will include:
• Requirements and Architecture: Mission analysis and definition of concepts of operations; capture, derivation and allocation of system requirements to subsystems; definition and evolution of the satellite architecture.
• System Design and Analysis: Trade-off studies; development and tracking of mass, power, link, pointing and thermal budgets; performance and margin analysis.
• Interface Management: Definition and control of interfaces between subsystems (mechanical, electrical,
data and RF) through ICDs; resolution of incompatibilities.
• Verification and Validation: Definition of the verification plan and matrix; specification of test procedures and support to AIT/AIV campaigns; results analysis and requirements closure.
• Project Reviews: Preparation and presentation of technical documentation at design reviews (SRR, PDR, CDR, QR, FRR) with customers and agencies.
• Multidisciplinary Technical Coordination: Coordination of RF, avionics, power, onboard software, structures and thermal teams to ensure the technical consistency of the system.
• Risk and Configuration Management: Identification and tracking of technical risks, change control, non-conformance management and root cause analysis.
• Quality and Compliance: Application of relevant aerospace standards (ECSS, NASA-STD) and maintenance of traceability and technical documentation.
